Keepingittogether27 · 27/04/2015 23:55

I am 6ft 2 (I know very tall!!) I had a baby 17 months ago and I put on 5 stone in the pregnancy (I ate for two fully grown men).
I just want someone to help motivate me, I can motivate them and we can go through this journey together! Diet starts tomorrow.

CW: 17.6 St
GW: 12.2 St

I'm wanting to lose 5 stone and 4lbs.

Any takers?

Yes, pm me. No baby excuse here. Just wildly overweight

frankie80 · 29/04/2015 08:59

I need a weight loss buddy too. I want to lose about 2.5 stone and then see if I want to lose more.

Yep I too have around 5st to shift after 2 babies in 18mnt , younger is 13 weeks. To be honest weight has always been a struggle, lost 2st after first was born then found I was pg and thought balls to it, put it all back on and then some. Think I am struggling with the change to my figure more than anything, no amount of diet and exercise is going to sort my belly out! Any ideas what diet to follow? Thinking I need to just eat less and move more!

helenahandbag · 29/04/2015 11:36

I have no kids, just a love of Nutella that knows no limits.

5' 5" (well, just a peep under)

Me! I will! Just started an eat less/do more plan a couple of weeks ago, mixed results so far but need help with motivation and support.

CW 17st 9lb (down from start weight of 18st 1lb)
Would like to lose a couple of stone before holiday in August
This time next year I'd love to be 12st
Ultimately I'd like to be able to maintain a steady weight of 11st as this is the upper end of the healthy weight for my height.

So really similar to you OP only I'm 5'6 so somewhat, erm, rounder Grin

IKnowRight · 29/04/2015 11:44

can I join in?

My 'babies' are 12, 10 and 7 so i can't blame them! (in fact lost loads when pregnant with dc 2, but then ate for england while bf)

so, started couch to 5 2 weeks ago, but only doing 2 per week, so it will take me forever.

Started slimming world material yesterday (got it from a friend) so i am going to try and use that.

height - 5'8''

CW 111 kgs (17st 6lbs)
GW 80kgs (12.5 stone)

total loss needed - 5 stone Shock Shock

I am giving myself first step - under 100 kgs. (so need to loose about 1.8 stone)

alteredimages · 29/04/2015 11:51

Can I join?

My youngest is 15 months so no excuses there, but I have been doing a lot of emotional eating and hoovering up of leftovers.

DD's newfound interest in baking isn't helping Confused.

Need to weigh myself but I am sure I am over 80kg and goal weight is 60kg. I am 5'3".

steppemum · 30/04/2015 15:37

so, did a run yesterday and was quite pleased with what I did.

have stuck to diet, then friend turned up and brought me lunch, it was lovely soup, but not really on my diet list. Not too bad though.

Haven't dared to weigh myself. I was 110 kg and started running and weighed myself and went up to 111 Hmm so reluctant to weigh again.

HotSteppa · 01/05/2015 09:44

Good work going running Steppe. I had a dream o went jogging last night does that count Grin Did Zumba on Wednesday though which was loads of fun and if nothing else got my heart pumping and me in the frame of mind that I am doing something so have managed to eat sensibly since then, like you altered I am partial to the leftovers! Going to the Trafford Centre to day so loads of temptation! wish me luck!!

steppemum · 01/05/2015 12:02

How about we do a log in?
Something like Friday (or monday or whatever) we come on and give an update, you know
last week bad week, no weight lost but none gained
or
yes - had a good week, lost 2 lbs

What do you think? Gives us a time in the week when we check in, helps us see how everyone is doing???

steppemum · 01/05/2015 12:03

steppa, I love the sound of zumba but can't get past the fact I would have to do it in a room full of people who can see how useless I am Blush

did another run, I promised myself 2 per week, but they are wed and fri, so at this point I feel very good, by Tues I feel lazy again!

HotSteppa · 01/05/2015 19:43

I have two left feet and dont keep up or in time with the instructor but I love dancing so just hang out at the back, do what I can and just keep moving! Helps that they have the lights down and disco lights going!

Im up for an update day. I weigh in on a Wednesday but can do whenever.

I have had my dinner but fighting the urge to go bake a cake or some cookies or something. Arrgh! Not going to do it, thinking of some long term goals for a change.

Keepingittogether27 · 02/05/2015 00:28

Hey guys sorry for long reply! I've had an idea! If we are all on facebook we could go into a big chat and compare notes. And motivate each other? X

Argh! Husband wants to get on board the weight loss train which is great but means he has talked me into '' one last hurrah" as he puts it and that means Chinese takeaway. FFS! Have gone for veg vermicelli so not toooo bad. Going for a walk tomorrow and been pretty sensible today. I am still on the wagon god damn it!

Keepingittogether27 · 02/05/2015 21:52

Purplevicki · 03/05/2015 22:33

Me too. I'm in.

For those on Instagram, there are some fab people out there who have lost loads of weight and post pics of their food. Sounds crap. Very much isn't crap!

MrsEvadneCake · 03/05/2015 22:37

Is anyone using Myfitnesspal app? I'm trying to lose 5+ and I'm using that to help me track my food.

spleenyone · 04/05/2015 08:28

Can I join? I have battled with my weight for years and have tried every diet going, all with little success. I often read these threads but never join in, but your op struck a chord with me and your post steppemum could have been written by me, your stats are exactly the same as mine! I was at my heaviest, just over 20 stone, nearly 5 years ago after my dd was born, so I have lost weight since then, but nowhere near enough. I am using mfp, but tend to be really good with it during the week and lose it at weekends. I need something to make me do this properly once and for all, so a weekly weigh in here would be great.

ThatIsNachoCheese · 04/05/2015 08:54

Me Me Me!

CW 15st 12 lbs
GW 9st 12 lbs

Holy shit batman! That's 6 stone!
I injured my back over a year ago and have piled the weight on since then. Have stopped taking weight inducing pain killers and am determined to lose something in time for my holiday this August.
I weigh in once a week at my Dr's so will post an update then.
sharing ideas for healthy meals sounds good.

steppemum · 05/05/2015 09:07

ok, so after blow out weekend with visitors, I have lost 2 kilos Hmm I am assuming the diet last week and the running has finally kicked in!

Back on track today, no running though til friday, too wet today and wed I am working a long day.

spleenyone · 05/05/2015 19:43

Well done steppemum, the running is obviously working! Hi Nacho, I'd love to lose 6 stone too! I weigh 2lbs more than I did last week. I'm going to keep going and try to stick with it, even at weekends- my downfall. Mfp says I've had just over a thousand calories today, so that's good. Good luck everyone.

pudseypie · 05/05/2015 20:00

Can I join? Just started 2 weeks ago eating healthier (no biscuits, sweets etc) & doing Davina 7 minute fit. Am also using my fitness pal under same username if anyone wants to buddy up on that.
I'm 5ft5.
Was 13.8
Now 13,5 (yay lost 3lbs in 2 wks)
aiming for around 12 stone.
My baby is ahem 3.5 years old and as my gp kindly pointed out, I put on 2 stone in just the last 2 years. . so only my sweet tooth to blame.
