I have decided that 15 years on I really need to lose the baby weight!! To help me keep motivated I wondered if there was any one who would buddy up with me so we can keep each other on the straight and narrow??

funny - my baby weight is also 15 .. time to lose it!! Happy to buddy up.. how much you need to lose? And how you going to do it?

Pamelaaa · 19/04/2015 19:27

Hi Carol. Need to lose about a stone and a half. Not quite sure how to do it!! How about you?

CarolBornAMan · 19/04/2015 19:37

could do with losing about 2 stone but would be delighted with anything to be honest - find it almost impossible - going to sign up for body coach plan I think - but in meantime trying just to cut out sugar and wheat as I know they are my biggest temptation, as well as wine cheese chocolate crisps anything smoked or salted.. pretty much everything really tempts me except fruit and veg!

Pamelaaa · 19/04/2015 19:49

I have tried to increase my intake of water over the last few days but my main weakness is my sweet tooth, especially my love of chocolate. So I am going to try and cut this out from tomorrow and then also try to increase my exercise levels over the next few weeks as well. If I could lose a couple of pounds a week I would be very happy.

I am not good at eating breakfast but am also going to try and build that in over the next few weeks. I also don't particularly like salads. So lots of eating habits to change!

Do you do any exercise at the moment?

OP posts:
CarolBornAMan · 19/04/2015 20:00

I hate exercise with a passion I can't express! I have tried PT, c25K, joined gyms ...just hate it but I know I need to step it up .. I have bought a couple of DVDs to try to kick off a health kick..

Good idea about the water .. I need to get more organised as well - take lunch and food to work otherwise I eat crap from machines as I can never be bothered to go find good stuff .. I need to change - it is just am old and set in my ways!!

Pamelaaa · 19/04/2015 20:08

I am going to try and do some swimming and cycling. Don't think my knees can take too much high impact stuff. But I struggle to fit in things around work. I can work very long hours some days / weeks and also then resort to bad eating habits because I am so tired. I could go on using that as an excuse for ever though!

We have booked our summer holiday this weekend so I would really like to lose the weight by then. I am sure I am addicted to sugar!!

OP posts:
CarolBornAMan · 19/04/2015 20:35

yes - I have 89 days to my summer holiday and really want to not be the fat one in a kaftan this time! I am going to try to do something every day even if it is just a quick walk - am so sedentary and do work long hours which I really do blame for my own lack of willpower and organisation - so tonight am cooking loads of chicken joints to take into office with avocado for lunch.. put an alarm on phone to remind me to drink water and stand up - every hour.. ridiculous I should even have to remind myself to do this .. bit this is where I am .. and why I am the size I am!

Pamelaaa · 19/04/2015 21:31

The reminders on your phone are a fab idea. I shall be copying that one! Have just done my tesco order for tomorrow and have included lots of salad, nuts and avocado, etc! The right intentions are there! Let's see how we go.

right will check in with you tomorrow when urge to inhale chocolate starts to kick in :)

Annabanana1812 · 19/04/2015 21:50

My baby weight is pretty new only 6month ish old. During pregnancy I lost 10kg but have put it all back on plus more already as I have been laying in the couch eating food all day. I need to lose about 3 stone and do lots of toning. Not feeling fit or confident enough for a gym yet but I went and bought all new excise clothes and good running/walking shoes. I have tried to eat healthy the past 3 days put had a few slip ups and have also done 90 mins walking each morning the past 3 days but have lost all motivation already :(

Annabanana1812 · 19/04/2015 21:54

Any quick health breakfast ideas?? I have been having low fat/calorie yogurt and two Jacob thins with hummus this is at 9am and last me until 2pm been having an apple or banana in between but bored of that already. I need food that take 15mins tops to make as I have a demanding baby

CarolBornAMan · 19/04/2015 21:57

I think you need to up protein/fat levels in your meals as this makes you less hungry - could you eat boiled eggs or smoked salmon - or greek yoghurt with berries and seeds? I love protein shakes - make one about 8am with kale, berries banana protein and anything else I can find - takes minutes and lasts me until lunch..

Tinofroses · 19/04/2015 22:05

hi im on another weight loss thread but I am the same , baby 14 now ! Also work long hours and am very busy mom . I have gone from 13.9 to 13 6.5 in last few weeks but Am finding it hard.

Breakfast ideas are for me poached egg or scrambled on toast , 2 grilled pieces of bacon in a small 100 cal wholemeal roll, bowl of fruit with low fat yoghurt topped with nuts or granola. Banana on toast or a smoothie. These are all ultra quick .

Good luck with the losses

Pamelaaa · 19/04/2015 22:21

Thanks everyone. I am going to try the protein breakfasts, such as scrambled egg and bacon.

Just enjoying my last lot of chocolate! Good luck every one and well done to those of you who have already had some losses.

I am a terror for constant weighing so am going to try and only weigh on a Monday.

CarolBornAMan · 20/04/2015 13:03

how you doing? I am having usual successful first few hours - protein shake for breakfast and chicken and avo salad.. lots of water .. and standing.. gym kit packed for later.. oh how many times have I been here ... and never made it past the first couple of days ... I need to change as I am the biggest I have ever been and also the oldest and weightloss even harder as we age..

Pamelaaa · 20/04/2015 21:26

Hi. Have had quite a successful day with regards food and also called at the shops on my way home to stock up on healthy options, especially for breakfast and lunch. Have drunk some reasonable amounts of water but not really enough. Have got a really busy day tomorrow with 3 meetings so won't be able to drink too much water because of needing the toilet!!

Well done a Carol on your good start. I hope the rest of the day continued positively. Like you I often start but can't keep it up. Desperately want this time to be different.

One of my friends has inspired me because she has done a week on weight watchers and has lost half a stone and was really pleased this morning.
