I've found the holy grail - very, very tasty low calorie (12 calories!) thingies to eat in the evening with wine

They are Itsu seaweed thins - flat, uber tasty seaweed crisps. Smile

Incredibly low calorie, buttered with low cal cheese/onion/whatever make a very tasty evening snack.

Theres about ten for 12 calories, very thin so won't hold much topping. Satisfyingly crisp.

I hate them - they taste of sea.

LaurieFairyCake · 06/04/2015 17:33

They are very salty and a bit fishy Grin

What's that word? Umami?

I like umami.

But I don't like fishy.

Greenteandchives · 06/04/2015 18:02

Ooh I have had these. They stick to the roof of your mouth and are v v expensive.

LaurieFairyCake · 06/04/2015 18:17

I got 3 packs for £1.75 on Ocado. So about the same as a bag of crisps but not multipack prices

Agree. They are nice and a good source of iodine. An acquired taste, perhaps.

blueshoes · 06/04/2015 18:18

You can probably get them cheaper and in bulk at an Asian (Chinese/Japanese) supermarket.

SayraT · 06/04/2015 19:48

I bought them but thought they were disgusting! Grin

They tasted like what I imagine pondweed tastes like.

tabulahrasa · 07/04/2015 14:12

I tried them...they were ok, till they hit your mouth and turned into actual seaweed.

I shared the weirdness by making every visitor try them till they ran out, no-one liked them, lol.

ErrolTheDragon · 07/04/2015 14:15

I tried them a few weeks ago - DD had one pack. Seaweed is the only 'seafood' she'll eat! Seemed like an expensive way to buy nori TBH. Get some nori sheets and toast them yourself, they'll be crisper (it's the only snack I've ever seen that had to have a pack of silica gel packed with it).
