Need some advice I have needed to lose about 1 stone most of my life and having put it off for many years, I now need to lose 2... finally got the willpower together ... and started today ... nothing too restrictive cereal and milk for breakfast, apple mid morning... trout salad with new pots for lunch (no dressing and only about 5 small pots)... so why do I feel awful... feel really light headed and in need of sugar... have no energy... is this usual... had to eat a piece of bread as soon as I got in as flet I was going to pass out...

Any one been through this is it my body asking for its usual meals which are not usually that much more than what I ate today -- I just want to stick to healthy food and cut out crap... but if I feel this bad, maybe I need the crap!

Feel quite demotivated... and awful!! HELP!!

Your body is going NOOOOOOOO! Gimme biscuits! Crisps! Been there...I lost two stone last year with weight watchers - you can eat what you want but you manage your portion sizes rather than only eating 'healthy foods' which can feel like you are depriving yourself. I would really really recommend going to one of their classes - you don't need to stay if you don't feel like it - I just used to go, get weighed and leave, but the support is great and the material you get on joining is really useful. You feel awful now but you will feel so much better after losing the weight - stick at it!

Oh yes - whenever I've started a 'proper' diet/food change, I've felt absolutely awful for at least 3 - 4 days. Headache (caffeine and sugar withdrawal), moody, shattered - when I started losing weight about 13 weeks ago, I started on a Friday and spent most of the Saturday in bed I felt so bad. The first week's the worst and then you start to feel much better. Stick with it - I've lost 25lbs so far and it's soooooo worth it!!

Stick with it mancmum, drink plenty of water to fill you up [says she who can't lose weight either]

thanks that makes me feel better = thought I was allergic to losing weight and doomed to be fat for ever!! guess my body is just wondering what the hell I am doing to it!!

I cut out ALL the crap! And started using a side plate for all my meals - so have roughly halved the amount I eat. Eating tons of fruit though throughout the day - couple of bags of grapes at least, so I'm never hungry. As much water as I can stand (hate the stuff!) and skimmed milk and sweetners in my coffee. All fairly sensible stuff and it's going really well, but took at least a week to adjust!
