Downloaded MFP. Log everything. Was told calories should be 1400 a day. Did well and lost 1.5 stone.

MFP asked if I wanted to update settings based on achievement I said yes and it reduced to 1360 a day. No weight loss for 4 straight weeks. Even put an extra couple on.

Decided to restart MFP with current weight which is 12 stone 6 and weight of 5'7 and it came out at 1200 calories. I'm starving though.

What am I doing wrong. I can't surely go from 1360 not losing weight to 122 and being starving?

Exercise way I do a combination of time on the treadmill - about 3/4 km 2/3 times a week and jillion michaels 30 day shred once or may be twice a week.

I work in an office so not hugely active during the working day.

Please help!

Breakfast Monday to Friday is greek yoghurt, raspberries anda spot of honey during the week and bacon and eggs at the weekend.

Snack is carrots and or celery with a pot off humous.

Lunch is some cold meat, small tin of tuna or some grilled chicken and an apple, a little 20g size of cheese. A tin of weight watchers tomato soup if hungry.

Dinner has been chicken or salmon with sweet potato and some stirred veg or salad.

That is average eating. I drink black coffee and a good amount of water.

When I said restart MFP I meant with a new account and email.

Set MFP to maintain. No weight loss.
Now weigh everything you are eating, and measure
as 1200 is not enough to enjoy life and if you really were doing 1300 you WOULD be losing weight.
You have to truly understand what you are eating now to work out what needs to change.

If you loathe being hungry every day, you might work well with 5:2

I have scanned and weighed everything down to the last gram, even measuring up in some cases.

On the third week of non weight loss all I ate for lunch and dinner was ready meals from marks so fully calorie counted with a salad and veg.

I am not sure why I'd set MFP to maintain when I want to lose? Sorry if not understanding properly.

bryony
Hmm, so if you are weighing etc, summat is going pear shaped.
Have you calculated your TDEE?
Just that we all have different calorie needs.

bryonyelf · 24/03/2015 21:07

tDEE is 2026. Based on age of 44, height as above and 174lb. I want to get to 11 stone and see how I feel.

Thanks for your help!

Could itbe too much excerise? Body needing time to adjust?

It is possible that if you are exercising lots, muscle is being built at the same rate as fat is being burned
that would show in measurements - has your waist / hips / neck / thigh measurement dropped?
As toned people are physically slimmer for the same weight IYSWIM

I think so. Clothes are quite loose. I must get a tape measure.

Juice Plus
Does it cost money?
In which case it is, by definition, a rip off
