6 months to lose 2 stone

currently size 18 and had enough. 2 pre schoolers who either walk at a snail's pace or run off. both fussy with food which I get annoyed at and then finish their plates. exercise options limited due to dcs, late working dh and so lack of childcare

apart from obviously eating less and exercising more, which hasn't been going well since beginning of Jan, what's my best option?

happy to consider all options, although easiest and least time consuming preferable

Sac, I have three kids, two with additional needs, inc one with cp.
I know exactly the definition of 'not possible', and I know exactly that if you really wanted to make it possible, you would.

Starting a thread intending to lose 2 stone in 6 months isn't going to make the weight disappear. Only by working out how it IS possible will that happen. And 30 minutes a day with a dvd and two pre-schoolers really is possible. If you want it to be.

I'm not telling you off Grin I know exactly how frustrating it is to be mired in small people with no support. And I know I would love to be the sort of person that gets up at 5 to iron and work out so that I can be a yummy mummy. (I have friends like this). Tragically I prefer to moan on mn, eat leftovers from small people's plates, and run around giving my time and energy to other people. If I wanted to, I could be two stone lighter. I just can't really be bothered to organize my life that way, even though in my head I know it's entirely possible. It's just the actual doing it that means I would have to organise the kids, or myself, or something... And that's not really appealing...

madwoman - thanks, but that's neither helpful nor constructive.

once these two are in bed I shall be finding out what this shredding malarky is. sounds very odd

madwoman you sound like you have very tough challenges and your advice is spot on.

the thing about exercise is that you need to do shedloads of it if you don't adjust your eating. however, it is the thing that will change your body shape and the way you look much more quickly

I would recommend a few workouts from do you yoga (sadie nardini - good for building =strength) and just bung them on and let the kids do it with you.

Any gyms that offer a creche? Buggy fitness classes? Child swap with a friend just for an hour or so per week? Plus a longer workout each day at weekend?

Walking briskly whilst pushing them in pram to a mutually agreed destination?

Thanks Smile I don't have much support but like madwoman says... It doesn't matter. You CAN do anything you set your mind to if you want to. 25 minutes a day before the kids wake up is doable, limiting calories is doable.

You just have to believe it is possible.

Don't want to derail the thread Hurr1cane but sounds like you are very together Flowers

I lost 4 stone in 6 months on the Terri Ann diet plan. Low fat, low carb, high protein
