Not in a great place right now but must lose weight. Anyone tried Victoza/Liraglutide, and will GP prescribe?

Hello everyone, i'm having rather a rough time of things at the moment and eating a lot more than I should. Have always had problems with my weight, but I did lose 10 stone a good few years back and though I have regained a lot of it back now, I have not gone back to the size 30 dress size that I was then. Saying all that, I'm not far away from it again and if I carry on like this then I know it will just get harder and harder.

My appetite is BIG and I love sweet things so I could do with help to control these things and have been reading about the Victoza/ Liraglutide injection. I was wondering if anyone has tried it and if it is worth asking my GP, but I am not sure if doctors are prescribing it here yet. Any advice or info on this would be great.

Please don't get me wrong as I am not looking for a quick fix, I have always had a problem with my appetite and have even looked at the possibility of surgery, but it sounds a little drastic and scarey for me. I know quite a bit about diets, calories etc but I really need a helping hand at least to start with.
My main goal is that I want and need to give up smoking but I know I will gain weight once I do that, so its very important to tackle this now.
Any help please? :-(
