I'm losing weight and toning up at the same time at the moment. I'm really focussed on it and it's dropping off fast. I'll be honest I'm using that as a focus to keep myself busy after a miscarriage earlier in the month so Ive gone in hard.

I'm just wondering what weight I should aim for really? At the moment I've just hit 10 stone. I just don't want to get carried away with it and lose too much like I have in the past.

I am 10st which is ok. Anything over that starts to feel chubby. 9st looks best but I have to work really hard to keep at that and haven't managed to get back to that since last pregnancy (but working on it).

MrsTedCrilly · 22/02/2015 15:41

I'm 5ft 7 and look great at 10st 7, but it's all about build too isn't it, I have broad shoulders and hips etc whereas you might be more of a petite build. I was 9st 7 once and looked terrible, so boney that I hurt when laying/sitting down!

moonfacebaby · 22/02/2015 15:45

I'm 5ft 6.5, and I have a small frame - narrow hips seem to confirm this.

I'm currently 8st 11 & a size 8 - it seems to suit me. I can go up to 9st 7 & still look ok, but my thighs look out of balance because of my pesky little hips (childbirth was a nightmare!).

I have gone up to just under 11st & hated it - my face looked weird but I did have decent boobs!

I agree that it's all down to the size of your frame...

MrsTedCrilly · 22/02/2015 15:46

Also size wise-
9st 7 was size 10 looking ill.
10st 7 was size 12 looking slim.
Just shows how different we all are!

I am nine stone 4, the weight I was when I got married 28 years ago. A few years ago I piled on the pounds and was 12 stone and felt flabby, old and unfit. Over eight months I lost the excess and feel so much better. I

DaphneMoonCrane · 22/02/2015 15:52

I'm 5'7 and about 9 stone 8 at the moment (DS2 is nearly 11mo). I'm a size 12, mainly because of my massive boobs (bf) and pot belly/muffin. Skinny arms and legs, small bum.

Pre-DC I was just over 9st and a size 8. Even if I lost half a stone I reckon I'll never be a sizs 8 again - my hip bones appear to have moved Confused

FoxyVeganJane · 22/02/2015 15:56

Sorry about your loss, I had an mc between my middle boys and it was hard.

I'm 5ft 7 and I'm 8st 10. I'm an 8 on the bottom and a 10 on top. I've been 11 stone at my heaviest and was a 14, both weights had me in a healthy BMI range but becoming ill a few years ago made me radically change my diet and views on food. I'm happy at this weight and feel healthy. I'm not toned though would like a toned stomach but that's never going to happen.

carlywurly · 22/02/2015 15:58

Just under 10 stone here. Got a way to go to get back there but felt best ever at that weight. No lower though, I started to lose my curves and it didn't suit me at all.

Offler · 24/02/2015 10:58

At the moment I'm 11 stone 8 lb (down from just under 13 stone at the start of January!). I'm aiming for 10 stone, when I get there (which I have done before and felt quite good) I might see if I can lose a bit more if I feel like keeping going to get to 9.5. I think any less than that I would look too thin, as I'm quite big boned in the hips and shoulders...

ClickMyHeels · 24/02/2015 12:02

It's amazing how different these weight/dress size comparisons are! I'm considerably heavier than you lot- and just a little taller. 5 foot 8 and 13 stone 11. I wear size 16 clothes. Reading this I was really surprised- you'd think I should be wearing maybe a size 20-22 at my weight. When I was 12 stone a few years ago I was a small size 14 and even fitted in a 12 for a few heady weeks. But some of you guys are a size 12 at 9 stone! Is it me- am I kidding myself I'm a size 16 and just buying clothes with stretch? Eeek.

spilttheteaagain · 24/02/2015 12:15

5ft8 and 8st 11 is my ideal. I'm more like 8st9/8 st10 atm and whilst I feel good I know the extra pound makes my ribs/spine slightly less prominent and is probably the better look!

Fairylea · 24/02/2015 14:01

Click I think it totally depends on body shape... I'm just over 12 stone at 5ft7 and I wear a size 14. When I was around 9 stone I was definitely a size 8-10.

VirginiaTonic · 24/02/2015 14:04

I'm 5'7" and weigh 10.5 stone, which I think is too fat! I would ideally like to be a stone lighter. I am a good sized 12 right now, would prefer to get into a 10.

ClickMyHeels · 24/02/2015 14:53

Yes it must depend a lot on your build- I'm quite broad shouldered with long legs. I carry weight on my tummy but my legs stay relatively slim.

Gen35 · 24/02/2015 15:41

Yes I've also got a friend who looks v thin at 12 St - it's so hard to generalise, I also think of you're eating well and at an easily maintainable weight, that's probably the best measure. No point me dropping to 9 at as I could never maintain it

Offler · 25/02/2015 09:37

You've also got to remember, some people may have more muscle mass which is heavier than fat.

nowitsenough · 25/02/2015 11:56

I'm 5 foot 7 and my ideal weight is 10 stone. Any less and my face is too thin. 10.5 stone is also ok. At the moment I weigh 12 stone 3 and wearing a size 16. I am losing weight though.

PhoebeMcPeePee · 25/02/2015 14:19

I'm 5ft6.5 and coming towards the end of a longish diet - 13st9 I was a size 18, 12.5stone 14-16, around 12stone I was down to a size 14, and now 10st5 I'm a 12 but some clothes fit a 10.

I'm aiming to lose a final 10-12lbs & hoping 9.5stone will be a comfortable 10 in most shops. I've also toned up & definitely have more muscle than before but I've got quite a big frame & sadly no boobs left whatsoever Hmm

TalkinPeace · 25/02/2015 17:41

To reiterate - it depends on your build.
