Hi everyone. I don't need help on anything, nor have an issue, but I didn't know where else to put this.
I'm 13 and even I've noticed that society has changed. Women are expected to have bikini bodies, flat stomachs and thigh gaps all the time. I particularly hate propaganda promoting the latest fad diet. I think everyone is perfect, no matter their shape and size.
Women are meant to have curves. Women are supposed to have more fat than men. Why? Because we have the gift to produce life. We are blessed with that miracle. Trying to change your image will not change your inner beauty - which, by the way, is already flawless.
I know some people feel they need to lose weight, and that is fine. Its your life and you can be happy. Coming from a teen who lost a stone, I know how it feels to be constantly put down by your reflection. I tried to hard to please the wrong people, and I'm struggling to receive proper calorie levels.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, if you're happy, don't change yourself. People love you for who you are, and trying to change yourself to look like a model won't change their views about you - only society's.
Learn to love yourselves. You are beautiful, no matter what age, height, weight and shape. If you have a round belly, so what? Its 100% normal! Stomachs were never meant to be flat, or legs stick thin. Just be the best you can be, and that's perfect. You are all beautiful, no matter what.
