I made it through my first session. I am FAT and UNFIT so it might take me a bit longer than 9 weeks to complete but determined. anyone starting/just started want to keep me company?

Pomp I started this last year on the fabulous unfit and flabby thread but it vanished in chat, and have lapsed since being completely awash with colds since December!

Anyway, enough rambling.... I'll start this week with you! Felt very inspired by having to update a thread last time - will run tomorrow or Tuesday with w1r1 again.

Got to week 6 last time!

Pompbear · 01/02/2015 19:55

cool! I've only ever done the first week. I really want to work up to doing parkrun

I am planning to do this but am spending a few weeks walking regularly first... So went for three 30 min power walks last week and will do the same thing through Feb. I am a bit worried that even the C25k would build too quickly!

Pompbear · 02/02/2015 19:01

god I so unfit that wk1 r1 nearly killed me! so I did run 1, the next day a long walk. tonight is run 2. wish me luck!

well that's run 2 done. Already thinking I might have to repeat this week!

I started last week - Saturday w1r1, Monday w1r2, Wednesday did a Zumba class and nothing since Blush

Will start w1 again tomorrow and hopefully we can motivate each other.

I'm running the race for life in July and would like to not finish towards the back this time!

RigglinJigglin · 02/02/2015 22:26

Well done pomp and happy, it's started!

DH got home late so ill do w1r1 tomorrow, managed a long walk with the buggy and dog today.

Hi everyone, I have just started this again. I got to week 7 in December sadly my dmil passed away suddenly and I lost my motivation Sad. But I started again today on week 3 it was hard but it does get easier.

Good luck to everyone you can do it, Well done for starting in this very cold weather.

Pompbear · 03/02/2015 16:23

wow - a few more of us! sorry to hear about your dmil Lily. well done for picking it up again.

I'm resting today. the fronts of my shins are really sore (shin splints?) I'm kind of proud that I have an exercise induced injury Wink

I hear you pompbear makes you feel like you are achieving, good for you, I have lost my enthusiasm I keep saying I will start Monday etc, I can't understand it when I started before I was so dedicated and, I loved how it made me feel. Not sure if I will get it back.

Pompbear · 05/02/2015 21:24

hey Lily, how you doing? have you managed a run yet? its so psychological isn't it? getting back into it.

i've put run 3 off twice. last one was really hard and half way through I felt a bit like I might cry (dramatic!). I think I was just a bit shocked that it felt so hard which is really frustrating - I was on a treadmill in a packed gym which probably didn't help.

have promised myself I will complete r3 tomorrow. I think I will repeat week 1 too Sad

I just hope I can/do keep it up.

you'll feel great come spring if you're running 5k Lily!

Thanks pomp no I have not been yet keep finding excuses, it's difficult I work nights and weekends so always think to myself I should have some me time in the week.

I'm really annoyed I got to week 7 previously, and you are right you do feel great, it is psychological .
Did you manage to run today? I also repeated weeks until I felt confident I think that is key, you feel in control. Good luck I'm sure you can do it.

hyperhops · 07/02/2015 11:07

do stick with it , c25k is fab. I did it a few years ago and I went from being 4 1/2 stone overweight and having done NO exercise for years to being a healthy weight and running a half marathon in 18 months. When I started I felt as if I would die after running for 60 seconds!
Sadly my motivation then dwindled and over the past 2 years I have put all the weight back on and gone back to no exercise Sad
I have just re-started running/gym this week and although much much more unfit and slower than I was it feels good to know I can get back to that again Grin

Lilybensmum1 · 07/02/2015 22:59

Well done hyper that's amazing. I am going to start again I too lost weight not much but I toned up and my clothes felt better. It's great to feel you are pushing your body. Keep it going will report back next week!

MrsClooney1 · 07/02/2015 23:09

Hi all....just started this too, did W4 R1 today as part of my get fit/lose weight regime for 2015. Determined to get to W9, although I suspect it may take a bit longer than planned. Desperately hoping it will help me shift some weight and feel fitter.

Runningupthathill82 · 08/02/2015 07:15

I did a zero to 10k training plan in 2007. The first time I ran for two mins straight I threw up - despite bring slim and in my early 20s, I was SO unfit it was frightening.

That was in the Januray, and that May I ran my first 10k. Now, running is a huge part of my life. I run for around 40 mins most days and have done several half and full marathons.

I'm proof that everyone, however unfit, can become a runner!
