Clothes sizes....aaaargh!

I've bought four dresses in the last three days in the sales. There's a 12 and a 14 that fit beautifully and I'm definitely keeping. There's a 16 ( quite fitted ) that could do with a bit more wiggle room and a lovely size 12 that I can't breathe in, well I certainly couldn't eat in it. Course this one would have to be my favourite and the only size they had .In order to have this one fit better I'd have to lose a lot of bust and I don't want to do that, so this ones going back.

The 16 I'll keep for 3 weeks to see if my diet impacts on it , the fave 12 will probably go back. If there'd been an 18 in the close fitting one I'd have got that.

These were all from the same outlet Dorothy Perkins. How are we meant to know our sizes when shops vary so much.
