motivational sayings, what are yours?

I have been trying to come up with a great motivational saying for myself everytime I want to reach for the chocolate/cake/biscuits etc. I have a few I like, but nothing I love (some I can't remember) so what are yours?

Junk food satisfies you for a minute, being fit satisfies you for life.

Just cos it looks good there (on a plate) it does not look good there (on your belly) - this one works better with pictures

Any better ones out there?

Losing weight is hard. Being fat is hard. Choose your hard.

'A year from now you'll wish you began today.'

BiscuitsAreMyDownfall · 08/11/2014 18:03

I read a good one last night which helped me get past my chocolate craving after my workout 'Dont reward yourself with food, you are not a dog'

I like that one kiwi

I've got a few:

That doughnut/cake/choc bar/sausage roll will still be available when you are slim.

Revenge is a dish best served slim (handy motivator if you have ever felt like the "fat friend".)

Every choice you make has an end result.

ExCarbivore · 09/11/2014 22:18

You can either be the sickness in your world or you can be the cure...shamelessly copied from Jessie Pavelka but it's so true and something that I say to myself even though I am not really into stuff like that.

Demonchops · 09/11/2014 22:20

The infamous saying first uttered by Kate Moss is my fav- 'nothing tastes as good, as skinny feels'.....so true as well.

kiwidreamer · 10/11/2014 16:37

I LOVE the 'not a dog' one, brilliant!!

BiscuitsAreMyDownfall · 10/11/2014 18:45

Im not a big fan of the Kate Moss one. Simply because cake is so delicious it can't possibly taste worse than being skinny can it? Grin

I like the one about the rubbish food still being available when slim.

Another vote for "a year from now you'll wish you'd started today".

I also like "summer bodies are built in the winter" to remind me of how uncomfortable i feel in sleeveless tops and shorts, now that i am cosy in my cardigans and tights!

Jaccuse · 11/11/2014 09:51

Love the "choose your hard" one. That encapsulates it for me.

AngusAndElspethsThistleWhistle · 11/11/2014 09:59

Do something today that your body will thank you for tomorrow.

dreamymckip · 17/11/2014 22:47

My general motto for life is: do something different
This worked for me re exercise. I hate the gym and spent a fortune on membership. Liked swimming but not effective enough. 13 months ago I started weight training at home with DH. Its been the best thing ever. Feel really strong, shapely and toned. Still at it 3 times a week. The weights as well! ??
Food wise dieting and fasting were easy but led to depression - then I just cut out pasta, rice and potatoes. It worked for me.
Find what works for you by trying different things... ??
(But most of all be happy!!! )

If you really want it, you'll find a way. If you don't, you'll find excuses.

BiscuitsAreMyDownfall · 19/11/2014 16:58

Oooh I like that saying Aggressive

A minute on the lips a month on the hips!
Not very positive but kind of true.

Snaveanator · 23/11/2014 13:15

I am not a dog, therefore I will not reward myself with food.
