My weight loss plan - would/should this work? Opinions appreciated.

Hi, my plan is a combination of calorie counting and a skewed 5:2 thingymyjig, and whilst I think it could work for me, could it work?

MFP reckons I shout eat 1300 cals per day to lose 2lbs per week. (I want to lose 3 stones). I however would like to eat 1000 cals for 4 consecutive days (mon - thurs), then up this to 1700 for fri, sat, sun. Reasons are that I find it easy to low cal on weekdays when I work and am very busy all day, and am happy to have early nights, however come weekends I want to be able to relax more and allow a glass of wine etc. I would really appreciate any opinions on my plan. Happy to provide any more info if needed. Thanks!

As long as you have a weekly calorie deficit then yes it will work - I think it's a good idea to save some extra calories for over the weekend so you don't start feeling too deprived and get fed up.

What about exercise?

Hi thanks to you both for replying. I'm struggling to fit
in actual measured exercise around work, kids and kids' activities etc but I have a pretty active job and rarely sit down til after 8pm. If I do manage to fit in a walk or swim, I hadn't planned on eating those calories back, but rather just seeing it as a bonus. I'm on day 9 of the plan so far and this is the first day I've felt a bit deprived and tired/grumpy. The weekend was ok, after 4 days (last week) of 7-800 cals (as I had done last week, but
now am doing 1000 per day), 1700 felt like tonnes! Thanks again, I will check in with my progress!
