Just that really, as the title says. Smile

Here's my weight(loss) history. Up until I was pregnant with ds1 in 2009/10 I was always a nice size 12, weighing between 11st and 11.7st. I am 5ft9 and average frame so carried this well, not to skinny, but confident. I piled weight on with ds1, lost some of it but finishing at 13st when I fell pregnant with ds2 when I put even more on, I lost 3 stone after having him in the first six months and then life took over (got very difficult for a year) and I lost focus, and now 18mths later I've only put on 6lbs again, so am pleased its not worse, but am 13st6lbs. I just want to get under 12st!

When I last lost weight before a group thread on here really, really helped me. We weighed in each week and kept each other going.

My Christmas present to me is going to be a loss of 21lbs, and it is for me to feel good, healthy and happy about myself again and I cannot think of a nicer present!

Does anyone want to join me on a Christmas Promise thread, we can weigh in weekly and support one another. x

First proper day for me yesterday and stayed on track. It's one day at a time for me but as others have said planning ahead really makes a difference for menus and exercise. I need to take a holistic approach as I'm such an emotional eater so I'm working on stress levels and getting enough sleep and all that stuff too. Otherwise I know from the past I'll have some success and then sabotage myself. If only it was just about eating less food!

Steala · 29/10/2014 11:19

Good to see new people. I'm struggling and need motivation. I have been eating everything in sight (TOTM) and fear a weight gain this week. At least this thread will force me to keep the gain to a minimum rather than just giving up as I would without it. Onwards and downwards. We can do it!

lauranorder50 · 29/10/2014 21:14

I've had Weetabix with raisins, a banana and semi skimmed milk for breakfast. Another banana for a mid morning snack (I live overseas).

I'm planning to have a chicken and salad sandwich for lunch. However, I've planned to make chicken thigh baked in stuffing with potatoes, veg and instant gravy tonight. Good job I like chicken !

My challenge is not to go overboard food-wise when my husband and I travel to the capital city tomorrow. It's to easy for me to eat all the way there. Eat all day when we get there. As well as eating out. As well as snacks. Then a cooked breakfast the following morning. I'll pack some healthy snacks for the journey.

The Rosemary Conley low fat diet advocates the use of the word, 'no'. When it comes to food temptations or cravings etc.

MercuryRising · 29/10/2014 21:36

Can I please join. I would like to lose 10 pounds before Christmas. I will w.i and begin posting on from tomorrow. I am desparate to feel slimmer.

MercuryRising · 30/10/2014 10:42

So I weighed in and I weigh 12st 7lbs which is hideous. But this is the first day of my new regime so I am feeling quite excited. I am aiming to be 2 pounds lighter by next ThursdaySmile

Krakken · 30/10/2014 10:44

This thread is a great idea!
I want to give myself a present of at least 14lbs off. I also want to give myself a gift of better hair and skin.

I'm going to focus on nourishing food that will make me feel better.
Lots of fruit, veg, lean meat, fish and pulses. Cut back on bread and sugar.

I've had porridge with berries for breakfast.

FrantasticO · 30/10/2014 21:07

Weighing in tomorrow!
Keep going everyone!

Steala · 31/10/2014 10:49

Well, as predicted, I have gained a pound. 11st 3. If I can be under 10st7 for Christmas, that would be an amazing Christmas gift and there is nearly 8 weeks so time to do that.

The positive this week is that I ran 3 times, which probably mitigated my terrible food week and hopefully built endurance for the coming weeks.

How has everyone else got on? Fingers crossed for losses unlike me!

FrantasticO · 01/11/2014 08:44

Hi all!

Stella a pound is nothing, and all that running is amazing!
Keep going!

I'm 5 down, however I'm always great the first week, then hungry Horace thereafter!

Off to body attack now...joy!

Keep going still over 7 weeks to go!

Krakken · 01/11/2014 08:48

I've just started to get into the swing of things.

I'm having porridge with berries and a tsp of honey for breakfast.

Lunch is leftovers or soup with a slice of bread or whole meal pasta with green beans, cherry tomatoes and a bit of pesto. Followed by fruit.

Dinner is mostly stir fries, curries or baked fish with lots of veg and some carbs. Followed by fruit.

I'm trying not to snack. Fingers crossed that this approach will help me to lose lots of weight!

I'm so sick of being overweight. It really affects my social life (I'm always turning down invitations because I hate people seeing how I look) and now it's affecting my health too. I need to take a 'head down and deal with it' approach.

missjemima · 01/11/2014 10:01

Hello! I'm going to join in on this one... Have lurked on many similar threads over the years but never posted (shy)

Have just weighed myself and I need to lose 15kg to be in the middle of a healthy BMI, so maybe 10kg by Christmas? That would be an EXCELLENT present Grin I would fit into lots of my lovely old clothes again - yippee!

Have had porridge for breakfast... Good start, and good luck all!

FrantasticO · 01/11/2014 17:53

Hi again.

So it's Saturday and I feel VERY sorry for myself.
Hate diets!

Someone lock my fridge.

Krakken · 02/11/2014 08:23

Frantastico hope you didn't feel bad for too long. I read your post and I agreed with you about feeling sorry for myself but then I realised, I feel more sorry for myself for being overweight!
Hopefully we won't have to feel sorry for ourselves for too long.

I was v pleased with how yesterday went. I stuck to 3 meals and didn't snack at all. We even had a takeaway curry last night. It wasn't the healthiest and I had plain rice, some chickpea curry, some chicken curry and salad. I just had a reasonable portion and ate slowly.
I don't think it was too bad overall.

I've had berry porridge and banana this morning as I woke up v hungry due to a bad night. I've got chicken and veg for dinner and soup for lunch.

Going for a long walk later.

Hope you all have a good day.

FrantasticO · 02/11/2014 11:12

Thanks krakken ( liking the name)
Mainly stuck to plan!
No major deviations food Wise!
Hour of aerobics will hopefully cancel out the vino I had Blush

Not beating myself up about it!

Well done you sound like you are doing great!

Onwards!

mmgirish · 02/11/2014 15:47

Oh god, I have to join too please! Just finished bfeeding for the last time this weekend unfortunately have no other choice but stop eating whatever I want "for the milk".

Ok, I'll grit my teeth and type this quickly...I'm 83kg/13stone! Ouch! Need to lose tons of weight and stop eating crap. Particularly as I'm going back to work in 3 weeks and my work clothes don't fit my elephant sized body.

Tomorrow, I'm going to take the baby for a walk and also attempt a bike ride. One thing that has worked for me in the past has been to wear a pedometer and always aim for 10,000 steps a day.

I'm overseas so will probably post at random times of the day.

velmadinkly · 02/11/2014 19:00

Can I join please. I don't need to lose too much, maybe 7lb or so, but I would love 10lb. I do need to tone up though.

I've just finished writing up my MSc dissertation proposal and I've got a bit of a break before having to start the actual dissertation, so I can focus on me a little bit.

My eating is generally good throughout the day, but come the night time I start eating the biscuits and crisps etc due to feeling tired what with studying and working virtually full time.

Stillstarving · 04/11/2014 16:32

I'm an evening eater too. I've got to break that habit even if it means going to bed to stop myself! I've done terribly badly this last week. Beginning again today with shiny new notebook. Going to log energy levels as well as part of wanting to lose weight is to have more energy and I need to remind myself of that

missjemima · 06/11/2014 11:46

So, have weighed in this morning and lost one pound... Not amazing, but have been recovering from a horrible cough and feeling sorry for myself which I tend to medicate with cups of tea and jammy dodgers! All moving in the right direction I suppose, will try for 2 or 3 pound loss next week... How is everyone else doing?

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 06/11/2014 14:54

Afternoon, going quite well here. Lost 6 pounds in two weeks so far and still motivated. I find it soooo hard to drink lots of water though. Need to step up exercise next. Digging out the bike out of shed I think.

Steala · 07/11/2014 10:06

Some good losses here. Well done!

Mine less impressive. I am now 11st 1.5, so a 1.5lb loss this week and a 0.5lb loss over two weeks. Not great but better than a gain. Still nearly 7 weeks to Christmas so 10at 7 still an achievable gift. I had already lost 9lb before the start of this thread. I am at the stage where one size jeans keep slipping down and are baggy on the bum (hooray) but the zip won't stay up on the next size down. How much do you have to lose to drop a dress size?

mmgirish · 07/11/2014 16:38

I've been good all week but don't have scales at home to weigh myself! Doh... I will get weighed at the school nurse on Monday to check!

Steala · 14/11/2014 09:18

11st0.5lb. Can't wait to be under11. I won't hold my breath though. I've lost 1.5lb in 3 weeks, so it might be another couple of weeks before I get there even if I keep this up.

Anyone else weighed in? Good luck!

NaturalElfYayChristmas · 14/11/2014 19:32

Hi all. Friday night vodka and diet coke has been served. Was an odd day today, felt the sugar craving strongly but managed to hold back (ish) had some 90% Lindt and it helped. I know we are doing slightly different diets but today I was 14.1.
Really want to get into next stone over weekend.

breward · 15/11/2014 20:51

Can I join?
I lost 16lbs earlier in the year, but since starting a new job in Sept I have put on 7lb. If I don't do something about it I will be 2 stone heavier by next Sept.
Diet started today. I am trying to eat breakfast later, had porridge at 11 am, then a main meal at 4pm. Now just trying to get through the evening without grazing.
I found walking daily for an hour helps. I can do 3-4 miles in that time, so over a week I walk a marathon.

Steala · 21/11/2014 08:47

4 weeks in and I am just where I started. Struggling to see anything positive in this.
