I would stay as far from SW as you can Weight Watchers is much better. diets ar awful, go for WW as it is all about learning the amount of bad stuff in each food and choosing what to spend your points on and encourqages you to exercise to get more points. You can do it forever cause nothing is a 'sin' or bad for you.

?
i used to do sw and lost lots of weight with it, could never get my head round points and ww..loved green days..starved on red days!
but did lose lots even though i had abnormal flatulance..with all the beans, pasta, pots!

trinityrhino · 01/10/2006 21:25

there is no green days or red days with weight watchers. none of that crap with feeling you need to starve yourself cause you can't fit in anything to eat into the plan.

StrawberryFULLMoonHALFMOONTOTA · 01/10/2006 21:27

isnt ww confusing and dont you spent most of your time checking what points things contain?

i liked sw cos you could eat a full chicken on red day or bag of spuds on green if it suited..lots to fill up on without 'counting'??
i may be off the mark these days tho as i havent been for ages!

I am currently doing the Slimming World diet - I personally have to go to group as I don't have the motivation to do it alone. Knowing that I have to get weighed every week definately helps - I would just give up if I didn't have someone "keeping an eye on me" IYKWIM. It's good going to group anyway as you pick up lots of tips and ideas to keep you going through another week and it's a good social evening - we have some laughs.
I think Slimming World is brilliant - you can eat, within reason, everything. It definitely doesn't feel like a diet, just a healthy change in the way I eat.

hi sparkler1..havent spoken to you in a while!

s how are you doing?..have you lost anything?..how long have you been going?

Sparkler1 · 01/10/2006 21:34

Sorry who are/were you? LOL!
I've done slimming world twice before - this is my third time lucky. I've been doing it for three weeks and have lost 6lb so far - I had an extended birthday celebration last week (three nights out eating meals and never really stuck to plan for rest of last week) and only put on half a pound! I'm feeling really motivated right now.

Sparkler1 · 01/10/2006 21:34

StrawberryFULLMoonOWOWOWWWWWWW · 01/10/2006 21:36

So what are you going to do about your weight loss?

StrawberryFULLMoonOWOWOWWWWWWW · 01/10/2006 21:49

well have got sw 7 day plan dowloaded, but i cant 'do' set menus, so am going to ring local sw class in morn to see if i can get there later..my old one used to go on for 2 hours, but this one only seems to be about an hour??..i really hope i can go, cos i really need to do something..even ww dont have a late class round here..all day time or latest 6pm!

Sparkler1 · 01/10/2006 21:53

Good luck with whatever you choose. If I can do it - you can to. Look forward to maybe seeing you on the Slimming World Thread.

StrawberryFULLMoonOWOWOWWWWWWW · 01/10/2006 21:53

i just dont want to get to the point were i feel like im walking to the guillotine

StrawberryFULLMoonOWOWOWWWWWWW · 01/10/2006 21:55

thanks, think it will be sw as i 'know' how it works..just feel..urgh i dont know...i wouldnt have to feel like its such a big deal if i hadnt gorged myself tho would i!

Sparkler1 · 01/10/2006 21:57

Don't look back - look forward. You've done what you've done - tomorrow is a new day!

ledodgywizardrobespierre · 01/10/2006 21:57

I'm doing SW atm and I love it have done WW in the past and personally although I lost some weight felt it wasn't very good and the group meetings I went to were not nearly as supportive as SW. SW is about what you can have too and teaches you how to fill up on healthy food and limit the not so healthy. I'd recommend going to a SW group for a start it works out cheaper than doing it online and you also have the face to face support there too. I also think knowing you have to go somewhere to be weighed each week is a uge motivation in itself. Good Luck.

ledodgywizardrobespierre · 01/10/2006 21:58

*huge not uge

StrawberryFULLMoonOWOWOWWWWWWW · 01/10/2006 22:01

thanks..when i used to go about 4 years ago, i was the one everyone came to for ideas recipes support, consultant badgerd me into becoming one, but it wasnt for me..now ill be the one looking for help..feel gutted to have got this big
