I'd like to lose (at least) half a stone in 10 days. It doesn't matter if I put it straight back on afterwards-easiest methods please.

Have an event in 10 days time. Have borrowed a dress which is a little too tight.
I'm not too unhappy with my current weight and know I could knock half a stone off easily in a month or so by healthier methods but have, as usual left it too late for that!
I am v busy so need a simple, not necessarily balanced diet -was thinking of some combination of eggs, salad, tuna, black coffee and water but will I be able to keep that up for 10 days?

Can't you just wear a different dress?

ihaveadirtydog · 19/10/2014 20:21

Yes I could but I want to wear this one and be thin(ish) for the event!

Cabbage soup diet! It works really well :)

MrsHathaway · 19/10/2014 20:25

I lost half a stone on the "sickness bug" diet last week. Go and lick a green-looking toddler.

I ate mostly the odd banana, a few cheap noodles, maybe an apple. Pints and pints of water. Some herbal tea.

It isn't healthy to lose weight that fast. I look like a skeleton, even though I'm still too fat!

Iatemyskinnyperson · 19/10/2014 20:33

Ketogenic diet! Most people lose tons of water weight initially before the fat loss starts.

sarahandduck · 19/10/2014 20:39

Here you go......good luck!

Jason Vale juicing is very effective. Try 5lbs in 5 days or 7lbs in 7 days apps. Good luck! Will probably try it myself this week starting with a 5:2 fasting date to regulate my appetite.

Just don't eat Grin

isitsnowingyet · 19/10/2014 21:36

Bloody hell - I've just looked at the commando diet suggested and it's all eggs, eggs and more eggs (and a few grapefruits) - I think I'd rather just do the not eating thing

ihaveadirtydog · 19/10/2014 22:03

Yes I'm leaning towards the just not eating thing- much simpler!
Cabbage soup sounds like a possibility and have has success with low carb in the past.
Thank you for not saying 'crash diets don't work'- no diet works once you stop doing it Grin

So, 2 days into it-have gone with low carb, medium fat, low cal, small portions.
Hungry but determined!
8 days to go.

Lots of water, whatever you do. Fizzy fills you up very quickly in the short term.

Keep going!

joanofarchitrave · 21/10/2014 20:10

Strict atkins will lose you that, but you do have to go absolutely all out and do it properly including weighing the lettuce so you don't have too much of it etc.

ihaveadirtydog · 21/10/2014 20:32

Grin at weighing lettuce.

I hope you look super for your event, is it working so far would you say? Is it a beautiful dress? Have you thought of diuretics? There's a herbal one they sell in Boots, I don't think I'd do any harm for the few days before your event. Good luck!

anothercrackatit · 22/10/2014 09:31

It'd!

ihaveadirtydog · 22/10/2014 19:32

2lb off in 2 days and have survived another day of strictness today.
Sparkling water tip excellent- had a small bottle for lunch and felt full for ages.
It's a lovely dress yes and have sorted accessories etc so would be a shame to waste it.
Will check out the diuretics too if I get desperate.

D&V works well.

Orangedaisy · 22/10/2014 19:37

I did 11lbs in 10 days once-30 min run first thing, then fruit and low fat yoghurt for breakfast, half a brown pitta and home made veg soup and an apple for lunch, home made veggie egg fried (brown) rice for tea. Wasn't very exciting but it did the trick. Just don't do what I did and eat a monster curry at day 12.... Also the dress I had gave a bit once I had worn it for an hour so spent the rest of the event hoicking it up so may as well not have bothered. Good luck!

ihaveadirtydog · 22/10/2014 19:42

Yes I can usually rely on one or 2 d&v bugs a year for a quick fix-will be just my luck if this years' falls on the big day.

Let this be a cautionary tale both wrt to being careful what you wish for and unhealthy dieting.
All was going well -4lb down by Friday then came down with heavy cold. Felt rough all weekend so indulged in some comfort eating.
Immunity obv low and just spent the afternoon being sick in what appears to be my annual stomach bug.
Just need to hope all is well by Friday and I don't pass it on to anyone else Sad
