Today is my first day on the Cambridge diet and so far so good! I have such an unhealthy relationship with food! Think I'd rather be told not to breath then not to eat the foods I want! Iv been very bad in the past with giving up on diets to easy but I'm million percent determined! I'm only 25 and have spend the most of my youth unhappy with my appearance and dreaming on being slender and confident! Theres noway I can waste more years of my life being unhappy! Life is too short! I'm hoping the Cambridge will shift the most of the bulk and healthy eating and excersize will help me slowly get to my target! When I met my husband 4 years ago I was happy at a small size 14, then slowly the weight crept on! Before having my.daughter I was a size 16 and again afterwards I returned to a 16 but then over the last year iv crept up to a size 20!! Has anybody got any experiences to share??? Smile

There is a VLCD thread on here, but it's been a bit dead lately. I started Cambridge Sole Source exactly twelve weeks ago - though I've had probably between two and three weeks of not really following the programme as I was away in situations where I couldn't make soups/shakes for various reasons - and I've lost just shy of three stone. Not particularly fast, but it's been a stressful time. I have two stone more to go, and am planning to stay on SS all the way, then move up the levels to a maintenance level of real food over a couple of extra weeks.

It's been a positive experience for me in general, despite being a bit depressed to find myself subsisting on processed food sachets, when generally I eat homemade, organic food (just too much of it). My counsellor is lovely, and actually, it's been instructive to take food out of the equation entirely.

You'll hit ketosis at some point in the next few days and feel less hungry. The big loss in the first week is very cheering. Experiment with different products till you find things you like. I can't stomach the shakes at all. Keep drinking water - it's a cliche that we often confuse thirst and hunger signals, but I've found it to be true.
