I need some good tips to lose tummy fat

I've been walking to lose weight and get fit - up to 8 miles several times a week, and shorter walks inbetween. So far I've lost just over a stone, which is great but it isn't helping with reducing waist size and tummy fat so basically I'm still the same size as I was when I started even though I weigh less.

I've never been able to do stomach crunches - weak tummy muscles. Have tried the Plank - didn't seem to have any effect, but maybe not doing enough reps or for long enough?

I don't want to join an exercise class, or weight watchers/slimmers world etc. Prefer to do this myself.

What are your best tips for whittling down the waist, and getting a flatter stomach? Getting a bit desperate :(

Similar issue here. All my weight is carried round tummy. I do 2000m on rowing machine, sit ups on ball, weights yoga and lots of core work. Starting (slowly) to see a difference. I've also stopped eating bread as found it bloated me right out and made tummy look bigger than it was.

Check out Mutu system. It's an online program for sorting out the Mum-tum, run by a physio. She says crutches and planks are counterproductive if you have a weak core and/or pelvic floor. I'm doing the 12 week program which involves core exercises, daily walking, clean eating and HIIT ( high intensity interval training) I'm only a couple of weeks in but there are lots of encouraging before and afters on the Facebook group. It works out about £5 a week, but you get lifetime access once your 12 weeks is up.

Hey I've been doing the lean and clean flat tummy fast I think it's called. A book I took out from the library but also available fairly cheap on amazon. Just amazing I never thought I'd have a flat tummy but it's really working! X

I was starting to think I was the only one emem. DH is puzzled - he's a runner so thought that the walking (have had to stop running because I was getting too many injuries) would work on the tummy fat too. Honestly it doesn't look as if I've lost any weight at all. The only evidence is the scales.

I don't eat a lot of bread, but do have carbs in other forms - potatoes, rice, breakfast cereal. Perhaps need to rethink the carbs I do eat. Was thinking about the 5:2 diet, but don't cope with hunger very well.

Will have a look at the other suggestions - thanks Nelly and baking :)
