If I'm 5.6, 15 stone - is it right that I wear a size 14/16?

I wasn't sure where to post this really. I'm curious as to what others musings are on this.

I'm just 5 ft 6, just under 15 stone. I'm currently looking at healthy eating, portion size. and doing C25k. I'm booked for a breast reduction for my huge, heavy boobs in November (34HH). The thing I'm slightly confused about is weight/clothes size. On MN often I here of people who weight 2-3 stones less than me who where the same clothes size. I'm normally a 14, 16 on top sometimes to allow for boobage. Sometimes I can fit a 12.

Seeing as I'm classed as dangerously obese this surprises me. I'm beginning to wonder if my boobs weigh a stone!

I know there's a big difference in clothes sizes but I find it all very strange.

It depends on shop, where you are in the country and when you bought your clothes.

Eg,

When I was 18 and 9 stone, a long time ago, that meant a 16 in most ethnic clothes but 14 in Laura Ashley. Now in m&s in the south east, I am size x, in the east midlands I am a size less.

Its also round my core and I've got big boobs too. My arms and legs are relatively slim - but I'm broad shouldered!

I'm 5 ft 6 in, about 13 stone, and a size 16 creeping up to 18 at the moment (esp because of my boobs).

You might be able to get into smaller sizes for your weight because you have a "waist", OP. Whereas I don't really ....

I'm 5'5", so not much shorter than you, and when I weigh about that amount I'm size 18 bordering on 20. But I haven't got much in the way of boobage, so probably more of the weight is on my midsection.

Im 5'5 and at 15st I was about a 20/22. Although TBF I did fall into the trap of wearing quite baggy clothes to hide so maybe i could of sized down.
Now I'm finally a 8/10 and I am happy to wear much more fitted stuff so it's probably more accurate.

Pretty much exactly. Has always been this way whatever weight I am at.
I've currently just put on half a stone more so am at 15 stone (had lost a bunch after my kid but just put some on) and I wear 14-16 and am 5' 6" with big boobs!
Interested about the reduction besause I have a really painful back too. I'll be working on going back to about 13.5 as that's where I'm happiest these days. And I know it's doable, also get plantar pain in my feet at this weight.
When I was 10 stone I wore a size 12.. I don't know.. I am now 15 stone and size 14. Who knows!
Sometimes if I get really tailored jeans I need an 18. It's sort of fascinating isn't it? So it seems just the way it is! Generally size 16 trousers are a bit big. Who knows! Maybe it's our boobs and big brains 🤔🤣😜
I think my measurements are 34 32 41 if that helps dicefer it at all?xx
