New thread for a new week.

OP posts:
Fauve · 22/09/2006 13:15

Let's talk about cottage cheese a bit more...

WigWamBam · 22/09/2006 13:15

Oi, Fauve ... don't encourage them!

OP posts:
JackieNo · 22/09/2006 13:16

so does the oil actually mix in with the cottage cheese, Fauve, or does it kind of separate?

WigWamBam · 22/09/2006 13:17

Enough with the talk of the food that looks like the nasty itchy fanjo complaint, please!

OP posts:
Fauve · 22/09/2006 13:21

you mix it in, it's so yum! Of course it does have calories in it, but it's sooooooooooooo good for you. Have it as a treat

(Scurries off to find virtuous treat for WWB, not involving fanjos...)

justamum · 22/09/2006 13:47

on the subject of cottage cheese- does anyone like all those flavoured ones with pineapple and stuff or are you cottage cheese purists like me & just like the original stuff?
Littlefish, the mofos will counsell you, or at least we'll try to without claiming any professional skill.
Well done on all the losses, JackieNo 2 stone is brilliant. Dottydot, the 80% idea is a good one, if you deny yourself everything nice you'll never be able to stick to it, even skinny people eat "nice" stuff sometimes.
Sue , I hope they get a move on for you.
wwb- fanjo!!!!!!!
I think I might bow out from the mofos for a while until I get myself on track emotionally. I'll stil be watching though.

WigWamBam · 22/09/2006 13:51

Justamum, we can still try and support you even if you don't feel you can keep up with trying to lose weight - don't feel you have to stop posting on the threads. Take from them what you want, if it's just a bit of emotional support rather than weight loss then that's fine.

Just stop going on about cottage cheese ...

OP posts:
JackieNo · 22/09/2006 13:53

You can be the phantom presence, justamum. And you can still post and join in without weighing at all, if you like - it's not compulsory.

I do actually quite like some of the 'adulterated' cottage cheeses - not pineapple particularly, but Waitrose used to do quite a nice crunch vegetable one and a lovely smoked salmon one, I seem to remember. Might have to start bringing in my own lunch to work, instead of buying a scummy sandwich, or a slightly nicer sandwich on occasion.

JackieNo · 22/09/2006 13:54

See - WWB said it first (and better!).

Dottydot · 22/09/2006 14:04

I've just been shopping (for wool!) in my lunch break and I'm soooooooo hungry - with all lunch eaten about 2 hours ago! I KNOW I should go and get some water, but it's just so boring... (I wish I didn't know there was a secret staff tuck box upstairs!).

Littlefish · 22/09/2006 14:10

Justamum - please don't go. I don't post weight losses (or gains ), but I know that I need the on-going support that the MoFos give. These threads are a real life line for me. Here, there are people who understand me, who don't judge me, but who also know when to tell me to stop wallowing, or when to surround me with care.

Take a week off from thinking about weight loss, but keep posting your thoughts and feelings. I promise you, it really helps.

Littlefish · 22/09/2006 14:11

Dottydot - let me distract you with knitting talk. Did you buy anything lovely? What are you planning to knit next?

Dottydot · 22/09/2006 14:16

I've just bought about 8 balls of baby wool - I've got a friend expecting in about 3 weeks, and one in January, so I'm going to knit the babies a lovely cream cardie each and the January baby gets a knitted patchwork blanket as well because I've got more time! Love knitting - especially in the evening as it keeps me busy and out of the biscuit tin!

hub2dee · 22/09/2006 14:19

Belated check-in...

Lost 4.5 lbs by some large Divine Act this week. Hit my third silver 7. Not sure what total loss is but I am teetering on the edge of a drop from 17 stone sommit to 16 stone sommit which is fab.

Hope everyone's OK. I don't really have too much time at the mo so not following thread as much (sorry).

hub2dee · 22/09/2006 14:20

Erm... yeah, right, three sevens are 21.

hub2dee · 22/09/2006 14:20

OK, so I've lost at least 21 to be accurate LOL.

Dottydot · 22/09/2006 14:20

Hub - that's brilliant! I'm half a pound off my third silver 7 - is it ridiculous to be looking forward to it so much?!

hub2dee · 22/09/2006 14:25

No way. It's quite a big loss really... considering if we weren't on it we'd have surely been doing a slow and steady climb up...

Dottydot · 22/09/2006 14:28

Even sadder is that I'm only 2lbs off my 10% target - and I'll get my keyring! (I really must get out more...)

WigWamBam · 22/09/2006 14:31

When I went to WeightWatchers all you got was a tick in your book when you lost 7lb, and piggy ears if you were the one who gained most weight and were Pig of the Week.

I didn't stay for long!

OP posts:
JackieNo · 22/09/2006 15:23

Piggy ears. How horrible. I hope it's changed now (don't remember any of that from when I was there, but I wasn't there all that long, and it was 20 years ago).

suejoneziscalmernow · 22/09/2006 16:31

lol at piggy ears. How motivating!

Don't go Justamum, we neeeeed you here. I like chatting with the bigmofo's, you and the west london threads are where I do most of my chatting and you are always the first thread I come to with news and stuff. It doesn't matter to us whether you lose weight or not, post your weight or not. We're not like a slimming club really are we? we're more of a .... errrr... well, clique I guess.

Is that what we are - are we a clique? Am I in a clique? [excited emoticon]

suejoneziscalmernow · 22/09/2006 16:34

Littlefish - I would be fascinated to know where you get your low self esteem from too. You are without doubt one of the most georgous women I've met in years and I thought you were fab company at lunch (though to be fair - we were all rather good company that day)

suejoneziscalmernow · 22/09/2006 16:36

MrsJC - sorry I ignored your reappearance in the midst of my own trauma. Nice that you all got there safe and sound, I hope you will start settling in soon and feeling a bit better. New starts are always tough aren't they?

WigWamBam · 22/09/2006 16:42

Jackie, the weights were shown on digital scales as well, which everyone could see - and she used to read them out as well. When all the weight losses had been read out, she would read out all the gains as well and everyone had to shout "oink". It's OK on here saying that you've put weight on when you "know" everyone and know they will be supportive, but in front of 30 women you didn't know (most of whom were already slim) it was horrible. Whoever it is on MN who's the WW leader reckons that they have never run meetings like that, but that's exactly how the meetings I went to about 12 years ago were.

Sue ... a clique? No We're not clique, we're nice - anyone can come and play if they want to ... although I suppose we have quite a strict entrance criteria ...
