...but I don't know what.

I am sick of being on a diet, off a diet, on another diet, off that diet to, ad infinitum.

I desperately need to lose the two stone I put on while pregnant four years ago, but I can't seem to stick to anything. I am currently falling off the slimming world wagon, having previously tried most things out there - WW, low carb in various guises, hypno, cal counting...

Not sure what I hope to gain from posting this. I am just so fed up of it all and so fed up of being fat and needed somewhere to rant.

As you were.

Sorry, I've found myself. Must be the lack of junk food!!

I'm so in the same boat. The OP could have been written by me.

Will check out the spreadsheet when I can fire up my laptop, thanks so much for doing it!

Just done my first official weigh in, 13 stone 7. Grrr. On the plus side that's still a stone lower than I was before last year's diet/fasting. So, two stone, here we go...
Currently drinking my morning pint of water - new habit inspired by TIP...

My reasons for doing this are totally superficial I'm afraid. I work in a fairly public facing and high profile job and I'm surrounded by people who are smart, nicely dressed and THIN. I by contrast feel like a wobbly pile of jumble sale clothes. I want to be lean and nicely dressed and feel confident about myself.
And I want men to think I'm SEXY!! Grin

Also my dad's side of the family have bad arthritis and I'd like to take some weight off my joints before it starts to affect me too. He has done fabulously at losing a shed load of weight recently. I think I picked up my emotional eating from him. If he can do it, so can I!

Wow it sounds like everyone is doing so well! I'm away for a few days so trying to make good choices but am nowhere near as good as I would be at home. Also walking lots but not the cardio/pilates/swimming I would be doing at home. I'm still trying to find my fitness routine.

I go back to work on Monday and will he starting 5:2 then.

I have lots of reasons for wanting/needing to lose weight. I have back problems and have been suffering with other joint pain recently. This will be massively reduced by losing weight but also the joint pain is significantly reduced by exercising. I felt so much looser last week when I was exercising compared to this week.

I am also finding some personal things hard at the moment and I find that if I take control of my weight, I can cope better.

I look in the mirror and am convinced I look pregnant. I don't want people to think I'm pregnant when I'm not!

I have also wanted to take up running for years. I tried c25k a couple of times and have now decided that I am going to wait until I have lost 2st and am no longer obese. I found that by week 3 my back really hurt so want to get fitter before I try to tackle it again!

Good luck! You all sound like you're doing brilliantly!

Oh, forgot to add. I've got a Fitbit - not the scary sleep tracking ones, just the little WiFi pedometer - and am aiming for 10k steps a day, BUT am not logging any exercise calories into MFP... From bitter experience I know that if I log exercise cals then I start to use it as an excuse to consume more.

Google the Paleolithic diet. I have been on it for a week and already dropped 4ibs. I am not doing it to lose weight though, I am doing it for other health benefits such as clear head, more energy, sleep better, more moisturised skin from inside out (more omega 3s). It isn't really a diet, more a lifestyle change. You will lose weight on this and feel fantastic I promise! Smile

have you thought about a diary? rather than do anything specific write a diary for 2-3 weeks with every thing you eat, and all the exercise you do.

at the end of 2 weeks reads it. what patterns do you see?

I dont personally beleive in any diet per se.

i do agree however that the "move more, eat less" method works but to di it, you need to understand your current behaviours

Not had chance to catch up with the thread yet, but will do so soon. Firstly I need to confess after totally messing up yesterday.

I was feeling rubbish anyway (carb flu???) then MIL rocks up with loads of chocolate for us for some reason sabotage??. There is a very good reason I don’t have this stuff in the house and needless to say it’s now all gone Blush.

Anyway a new day…

Food plan is:

B: eggs with butter and cream
L: Tuna salad with olive oil
D: Last night’s donner kebab that got abandoned in favour of something a bit more carby, salad tzatziki

I’ve got a few olives to have before my kettle bell class too.

I suppose this could be a good time to think about my reasons for doing this, a lot of which is in my OP anyway.

I was always 8.7-9st, but always thought I was fat and was always on a diet. Then I gave up smoking and put on a bit so was generally 9st7-10st and always thought I was fat and always on a diet. Then I got pregnant and stopped dieting, so after DS arrived I was 12st7. Lost 1.5 stone to 11st, then I got ill and lost another stone down to 10st. Maintained this for over a year through running and always being on a diet, then in September last year I got injured, stopped running and dieting and gained another stone. So here I am still at 11st, stil always on a diet but never really losing weight and still unhappy with my body.

I have spent the last two decades on a diet and have only succeeded in getting fatter. I want this to stop and I have promised myself that when I finally lose the weight I will be a lot nicer to myself than I was when I was last 9st (or wherever I end up) and will allow myself to be happy rather than always wanting to be thinner.

So anyway, that waffle can be summed up by saying I want to stop yoyo dieting and be happy with myself.

Loving that spreadsheet Mint! That is my new motivation, right there, especially as I am the first name in the list Shock.

Fourarms amazing weightloss well done, you must be thrilled. We've got friends up next weekend so I think I might plod on with what I'm doing now (although not what I did last night) then try P1 after what wil no doubt be a carby and boozy weekend.

I've been trying to lose weight/get fit for about 18 months. I started going to a personal trainer and I feel much fitter and less wobbly, but I've only lost a consistent 5lbs! DH says I look slimmer though.

Anyway, I got myself a new bike on the Cyclescheme and I'm doing about an hour a day on it (lucky in that we have some lovely country lanes around here) and I've dropped a dress size in 9 days! Still only another 2lb in weight though. My legs have no bumpy bits any more either.

Can I join please?
I'm5ft 10 and 13st 8 at the minute. DD is now 2 and I still haven't lost the baby belly. I seem to go up to 14st 4 and then back down to 13st 6. This is the lowest i've been since I had her. My previous weight was 11st although I'd LOVE to get back down to 10st 6 which was my skinniest pre baby weight.

I need support. I can't go to a diet club as DP works shifts and I have no childcare. I can't go to a gym as I always have DD with me and I have 2 DS's that are 5 and 7.

I'm also starting Open Uni in October and I just can't face another Christmas season feeling like a big heifer. My eldest son also thinks I'm having another baby as my belly is so round.

Wow, Mint - great spreadsheet! Love the fab colours - thank you!

Off to a good day so far, breakfast was some soya yoghurt, even though i have raging pmt and would rather have cake!

I'm another one wondering about the Harcombe diet, but I am vegan so not sure how manageable it would be. Need to do some more reading. At the moment Will stick to what i know, so sw for me

Fourarms, after reading your post I'm inspired to try the Harcombe Diet, which I've never tried before. Have just ordered the book.
