Hi everyone, I am starting the Jason Vale 7 day detox tomorrow. Has anyone else done this? How much weight did you lose and did you keep it off? I hope to replace at least one meal with juices after this week...if I make it. I hope I have the strength to do this, I have a fridge full of veg all ready!

I did the 5-day detox recently and lost 6llb. Best thing I ever did! I'm still juicing at least once daily and it's changed my whole diet. I feel so much more energetic now. Good luck, it's worth it.

Thanks MsFiremanSam! So with juicing at least once a day after you havent put the 6IB back on? Have you lost more weight? I really need to lose a stone.

I did well on it, lost weight and felt great. I tried to have a juice day thereafter (once a week, juice only for one day) which I really enjoyed but found the cost prohibitive long term. I went from a 16 to a 10. I stopped altogether about 18 months ago and I've crept back to a 12 now so I think I'm going to reintroduce it and hang the expense! Invest in a top notch juicer though, cheap ones don't cut it!

I bought a juicer by heston blumenthal. I have tried it out a few times this week and it seems fine. Will definitely know by the end of the week. I want to have more juice as meals at least thereafter. You have done so well, well done!

Well its taken me half an hour to make my first juice. I found it difficult to cut up the pineapple even with my new electric knife. Blimey!

I don't think the one you've bought will cut it

It should juice fruit easily. I leave a bit of pineapple skin on mine and it deals with it well

noddyholder · 22/08/2014 12:07

Not the same but my friend just did 6 days on Aldi smoothies onlt and one small meal a day before a holiday and lost 9lbs!

artylady14 · 22/08/2014 13:35

Hi soulsister, its not the juicer that took ages to juice. It was the cutting of the pineapple with my electric knife. And then trying to peel a lime! Who peels a lime?!

Wow, Im so happy to hear that noddyholder. Do you know what juicing recipes she used? I have bought another book full of juicing recipes to try anyway.

I never peel limes, vitamins are just under the skin so I throw it all in!

todayisnottheday · 22/08/2014 19:47

Thank you! I was really pleased with it in general and it'd easy once it becomes a way of life. It does have the wall effect after a few days though! I've not heard of that juicer, it's mostly about power but also capacity and how well the blades hold up. All the fruit dulls them quite quickly.

MsFiremanSam · 23/08/2014 16:48

I haven't put the 6llb back on and I've lost another two, but I've had lots of meals out and snacks over the summer hols! Once I realised I wanted it to be a way of life I invested in a good juicer - minimal prep required and quick cleaning. I had a baby last year and was really struggling to shift the last stone - now I've just got a few pounds to go. It's also really helped with my IBS - I get no symptoms at all when I'm juicing.
As well for me a big thing has been a feeling of control over my weight, which I've never had, as I've always struggled with my body image. I know now that if I over indulge, I'll just do a couple of days juicing afterwards.
How are you getting on?

MsFiremanSam · 23/08/2014 16:51

Also with a decent juicer you don't need to peel anything - mine does whole fruit and veg so you just lob it all in!

Hi MsFiremanSam, today was a hard day. Its day 2 and apparently that is the day you start to get headaches. I have had a headache and felt lightheaded all day. I found yesterday easy but not today. Its hard work juicing all day and very timeconsuming. Earlier I made two juices at once to save me some time during the day and it took ages but was worth the break from cleaning the juicer! I know it will be worth it, its just hard to do for seven days I think. I have to do it as I really need to lose weight quickly for my wedding. I will be careful with what I eat next week. Probably aim to have at least one meal replaced by juice. I watched superjuiceme the movie last night and it mentioned lots of illnesses like IBS that have been cured by juicing. I am going to watch another juicing documentary tonight to motivate me!

Keep going, it's so worth it. Have you seen 'Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead'?
It helped me to have an avocado with lemon and black pepper for 'dinner ' with a juice - didn't feel I was missing out on real food quite as much.

MsFiremanSam · 23/08/2014 23:41

I saved the avocados back instead of blending them.

BaconIsMyFriend · 27/08/2014 10:35

I followed the juice diet loosely as I can't give up food. I replaced breakfast lunch and snacks with juices but had a regular dinner. I still lost 7lbs in 9 days.

I have enjoyed it so much that I now replace one meal a day (usually breakfast) with a juice and some whole fruit. Still eating what I want for lunch and dinner. This has knocked off a further 4lbs in 3 weeks.

I love the juices, carrot apple and ginger being my fav.

artylady14 · 28/08/2014 16:14

Fat Sick and Nearly Dead is on my list to watch! I weigh myself every day and today is my last day. This morning I weighed myself and had lost nothing since yesterday and have only lost 4.5IBs in six days. I havent been able to do much exercise other than a bit of walking. The only cheating I did was eating a few extra fruits like a couple of avocados, a banana, and a few figs. But I havent had five juices every day, just four mostly. I tried the figs as I have found I havent been moving my bowels (TMI sorry). I dont know if this is just normal with a juice diet. I am inspired to keep on going too and replace some meals when I can. Just so excited to eat tomorrow!

Yes, a simple carrot, apple and ginger will be far tastier than some of the juices I had this week!
