Diagnosed a year ago 8 months after birth of dc3. From August - June on thyroxine, felt awful and no weight loss. Since June on armour feel great but weight will not budge from 13 stone despite fact I go to gym five times a week and eat healthy 90% of week. What more can I do? Any suggestions welcome. I feel I have to explain my fatness to everyone I meet and it's making me very ashamed of myself :(

If you find out let me know!

I can do it it I eat a 500 calorie liquid diet but it's near impossible otherwise...

Just started Weight Watchers again.

Maybe you just need to eat a certain percentage less than you normally would at your weight and height.

My consultant recently put me on Metformin but all it's done so far is give me a bad tum.

Thanks for your reply oblah. Considering 500 calorie liquid diet as last chance saloon, but metabolism already severly messed up due to condition, worried this would exacerbate even further.
I put on weight following ww strictly.

Sympathies it took 2yrs to get my levels of thyroxine sorted properly. The only way I've found to lose weight is low carb and I don't just mean cutting out bread/pasta etc., but eating full fat as well. Vegs cooked in butter, meat, cream, cheese, etc. I joined BIWI's first Bootcamp and went from just under 12 stone to 9.5. I've had thyroid problems since 2006 with weight creeping up and up and it's the only thing that works for me. Weight has been maintained as well as it's not a diet as such it's a way of eating for life. Yummy too! Smile

I'm watching with interest. I too am 13 stone was diagnosed a year after my doc was born.i eat like a saint and put weight on. How did you get armour?

Yes I lost 3st. Complete change in way of eating - food is fuel not pleasure. Lower carb helps, no takeaways, booze once a fortnight, no snacks, portion control. I do drink a lot of coffee though, which isn't ideal. I started off logging everything on my fitness pal app and got a fit bit to log exercise (30 day shred). Good luck, it is possible but it took a long time...
