my fitness pal- got a question!

I've just started this a couple days ago and I'm quite confused. When exercise is added, why does it then give me less calories in my daily allowance? I have been coming up with minus calories every day so far but that's down to all the calories taken off when I exercise rather than the ones I've eaten.

Apologies if this is a daft question, I feel I must be missing something Grin

Minus calories is good. Say you ate 1500 calories and then 200 were taken off for exercise, then that would mean you had only eaten 1300 that day = weight loss.

Ohhh okay that makes more sense! I was wondering what I was doing wrong! Now I have to worry I'm not eating enough, it was coming up with -800 odd calories Blush

If it says -800 that means you're eating 800 more than you should though...

Have you gone into settings and set your fitness goals etc? Adding exercise should not take calories OFF. It should add them to your day.

Only food/drink etc removes caloroes

Sorry I was looking at the wrong bit! I just added half hr of cycling to my day and on net it now says -300 in red. Which is correct.

And it has added to my calories left for the day and that now says 1800 in green.
