making thighs thinner

This has probably been done before, but the part of my body that I want to slim down the most are my thighs.
I go to the gym, but have heard conflicting advice about how to use the equipment if I want to reduce them rather than gain just muscle.
Physical trainer has said I need to do a small batch of exercises on certain leg exercising machines, then stop for a break, then repeat.
I've been told to be mindful of how many weights I am putting on them, too.
Any ideas, guys?
One of the machines I frequently use is a weighted squat machine that is is horizontal.
Another is one that exercises my glutes and quads
If anyone can help me I'd be very grateful, thank you lots Smile

You can't spot fat reduce. It's impossible, so unless you lose fat from all over your body you won't just lose it from your thighs. However you can tone them up by doing weights and then they will look better. I do heavy lifting- have lost 6 lbs net in 2 mths but about 12lbs of fat as a result. Thighs now very firm and shapely. You will not bulk up unless you start taking hormones or steroids. You'll just become denser and stronger. Personally I think light weights are a waste of time unless they're being used as part of a cardio circuit.

Be careful on the heavy lifting though as a lot of normal women and athletes alike suffer from vaginal prolapses when lifting too heavy weights.
I do weights but only sitting on a bench now. I also got much leaner legs running.

well yeah, it might happen if you went crazy and didn't implement a proper rep scheme, but you might also end up with a double knee and hip replacement from road running enough to get good lean legs due to the repetitive strike pattern.

Unless you're going to do aqua aerobics, which do FA for anyone, there will always be an injury risk.

You can run on the beach or grass. Prolapse occurs because of the downward pressure exerted when lifting weights.

A low carb diet has completely eliminated the cellulite on my legs which has made a big difference to how they look. :)
