Disappointed with the sub categories here?

Hi all,

Firstly, I mean this as no disrespect to people following the diets, or any of the subjects on the sub categories here.

However, I find it so incredibly odd that within the whole of the weight loss section on this site, there isn't a single sub category dedicated to people who want to lose weight through exercise only, without some sort of additional diet attached to it.

The closest is the "bootcamp low carb" section - but why is the low carb bit so necessary? There are already other sections dedicated to diets.

I don't believe in cutting out food groups, so it's a little sad to see there is nothing here for people who simply want to eat healthily and bust their arse with workouts!

Am I missing any sections that cater to this?

I was going to answer the first part of your post by saying its because it has been widely recognised that losing weight is 80% food, 20% exercise, your body is made in the kitchen etc..... as I thought you literally meant focus on exercise (and still eat cake!). However, as you went on to say you want to focus on healthy eating and exercise then you have an excellent point, in fact in the past I've also wished there were weight loss classes that focused on those two aspects too, instead of being so prescriptive. After all, healthy eating and exercise (emphasis on the former) is, surely, the only long term solution.

Our thread Is made up of mostly exercise orientated losers!

Well, you don't need a specific category, you could just start your own thread in here about it. And then there will be one!

I'm doing My Fitness Pal, focussing on exercise but making sure I don't overeat to compensate. Which has happened in the past. Grin

There's an exercise section under health?

kaykayblue · 17/06/2014 13:28

Aha, thanks everyone for the heads up! I will check out the section under health and the link given by katopotato!
