Weight Watchers - has anyone lost weight on 29 points per day (instead of 26)?

WW has always worked for me, but I do find 26 points per day a bit of a struggle. I'm starting a diet again tomorrow, I wanted to lose 8lb for my hols in 8 weeks time. I'm told that under the 'old' WW scheme, the daily allowance always used to be 29 points, and that it's quite possible to use weight with that allowance.

However i don't want to waste 3-4 of my 8 pre-holiday weeks trying something that's not going to work - but on the other hand the extra 3 point per day sounds very appealing (but only if I'm losing weight)!

I'm doing Weightwatchers i have lost 10 percent of my starting weight so far and am 2.5lbs away from goal??.
I have 26 points per day but also u get an extra 49 bonus points per week on top of your daily allowance that you can use in any way u like be it all in one day if ur going out for a meal or split the 49 by 7 days to give ur self an extra 7 per day so 26 plus the extra 7 means 33 points per day.
Hope that makes sense

Meant to add I've been going 13 weeks and I have managed to lose weight pretty much every week

And I eat all my daily allowance and most if not all of the weekly allowance too. I love my food too much to not eat all my points lol. I also do a bit of exercise to boost my weight loss. Hope that all helps

Scooby - you've been really successful, well done!

Previously I've used all my 26 points, plus my 49 bonus points - I was just a little nervous about increasing my allowance, just in case it didn't result in weight loss. However thinking about it, if 29 points was the old scheme, and plenty of people lost weight like that, then I don't see why it shouldn't work for me too. Having an extra 3 points per day might not sound like a lot, but it will be enough for me to have a mid-afternoon snack, and make it through til tea time without being absolutely starving and being tempted to make a really bad choice!!!

I 'stuck' to the 26 plus winelies. however when I got to target someone pointed out that with recipes you are meant to add up the total fat, protein etc rather than just counting 'zero' constituents as zero! !!

I also refused to count the milk in tea and coffee.

So I was probably eating 29 points a day Grin plus weeklies.

h&f days/ simple start let you eat more most days. Now I'm in maintenance I'm still eating h&f with 90 weeklies and have lost a further 5lb in about 6 weeks (and my bmi is 22 not 25).

So I reckon it's definitely possible!
