Do I ^really^ need to join weight watchers or could I just get hold of the points book and do it myself?? (anyone got a spare book then??)

depends - how much have you got to lose? If its only a stone or so you could probably lose it wihtout help. You don't need a weightwatchers book - its not a magic diet. Just low saturated fat reasonable calories and exercise.

If youhave more to lose, I think you're unlikely to do it without more support, not necessarily weightwatchers but friends or one here.

eek, don't know how much I need to lose...probably 10kg would be ideal (haven't weighed myself since I had ds 6 months ago)

I'm doing slimming world and if I hadn't been going to the weekly groups I would have given up by now. They've really motivated me to keep with it and given me loads of ideas for things to eat.

my friend started going to weight watchers, with her mum so she did not have to go it alone, she only used to stay for the weigh in not the meeting afterwards. she had the points book, then after 4 or 5 weeks started doing it by herself. she found a it of both worked well for her, got her confidance up and now she is obsessed by it, as she lost nearly 2 and a half stone in 12 weeks!
