Please note I don't know why this works but I just know it does for me!
All my life I have struggled with my weight ..up and down between size 10 - 20 several times. Its not about junk food etc. or ignorance ...for me it's just sheer appetite / greed. I've learnt to keep it under control with exercise to some degree but the big appetite has always been there
I had a personal trainer who advised me to change my meal size around ..so make breakfast the biggest meal of the day etc. It worked a bit but I still found myself having a big breakfast v small lunch but big meal in evening.

But a few weeks ago I was going through my fridge and saw a ready meal ( low fat, high protein and veg) that needed eating and I knew I would be out the next evening so I wouldn't eat it.So rather than waste it I decided to eat it for breakfast .It was a bit odd..a large savoury meal first thing..but what a revelation!! I didn't feel hungry at all during the day and could only face a much smaller meal that night

I have now been doing this for four weeks and have lost half a stone..without any other changes whatsoever. I am mindful of what the meal is ( I.e. It's not fish and chips!) but it's pretty much what I would normally eat for dinner. My taste buds have adapted and I feel like its so painless! I now only need fruit for lunch and a really light evening meal eg an omelette

Not saying it works for everyone but so delighted with results I wanted to share!

Brilliant that you've found what works for you Smile

I think when you've found your natural food cycle it's great. I do 5:2 because I can easily go without food til midday and I don't struggle if I don't eat til about 4 on a fast day.

I can't believe I spent so many years forcing down breakfast when it didn't suit me.

My friend is like you, she low carbs and eats a big plate of cold meats, cheeses and eggs in the morning and very little the rest of the day.

I sort of do that anyway in that I have stuff like egg on toast, bacon , egg, beans, tomatoes etc for breakfast.

I feel much fuller for longer & find I don't snack on cake/biscuits mid morning.

I'm like Laurie - once I start eating I can't stop Grin

Happily go without food until the afternoon.

Glad you have found your 'loss' success. Mine is 1200 cals a day which is dull but works for me when I need to lose when I stick to it

That was the difference though for me .. A big traditional breakfast just didn't work but bizarrely eating " dinner" foods does! My husband cannot fathom why I am tucking into chicken and rice at 7am!!!

Maybe it's bwcause I often eat bacon, oatcakes, sausage hash browns & beans for tea too.

Protein for breakfast def fills you up. I don't like the feeling tho. I like being hungry for my other meals.

I know this works for me too but I find I'm always rushing to get my partners sandwich and smoothie made and my sons milk and porridge done that I end up eating bread which is disastrous for me. I need to actually pre-make a savoury breakfast I think that I can just heat up as eggs gets very tedious day in and day out, particularly if you can't pop it into a slice of bread.

What sort of savoury things are you eating OP?
