Hi everyone,
Trying to lose 5 stone. Lost lots of weight when I was 14 years old by only eating half of my dinner a day and although this is the only thing that has worked for me I now understand as I got older that this wasn't healthy and when I started eating properly again all the weight piled on again.. Tried the slim fast diet too but got bored of drinking mostly milkshakes . Anyone any good tips for losing weight? Thanks xxx

Cutting down on portion sizes is actually a really sensible way to lose weight. Only eating half your meals may be a bit extreme, but it does depend on how large the meal is of course. I would recommend making a few small changes rather than following a specific "diet", as it is more likely to be sustainable and less likely to become boring, e.g. reduce meat and carb portions and increase veg, replace fruit juice/fizzy drinks with water/tea, eat fewer/smaller amounts of treats/snacks, only having one course if you go out to a restaurant etc. I've lost 4 st 5 in the last year using this approach and it feels like a genuine lifestyle change not a short term diet.

There are no tips to lose weight, but there are plans to lose weight.
If you really want to lose weight then just follow few things.

  1. Have Green Tea in the morning.
  2. Do exercise after taking green tea at least for 25mins.
  3. Walk for 15mins in the morning.
  4. Limit eating rice items and dairy foods
  5. Avoid junk foods
  6. Reduce the proportion of calorie intake.

From my experience these work-;

  1. Cut out (or right down) on teas and coffees,alcohol and 'diet' fizzy drinks. Have water and herbal and or green tea (agree with the above posters)
  1. Eat yr evening meal before 7.30 pm.
  1. Look at Paul Mckenna because he changes your MENTAL attitude to eating.
  1. Also look at the Hay Diet (not combining carbs and protein at the same meal). Thus improving your digestion.

i have lost 3 stone and am maintaining Grin doing the above

OH also eat fruit as a snack or when you are hungry
