Reached my goal. Celebrated and put it all back on. How to stay in the zone/motivated

Am so pissed off with myself. I wanted to loose 10 kilos. Got a fitbit. Decided to do 5:2. Gave up booze and sweets.

Found it relatively easy. Was really motivated. Even got a couple of JM dvd and did that. Got to my interim target of 5 kilos lost. Then reset my fitbit for the full amount. tbh would have been happy to have just lost another 2.

Then came easter holidays. Totally out of routine. Couldn't do the 5:2 or videos. No dog walking. Lots of chocolate. Back on the booze.

I have now put on all of the weight that I lost.

I always do this with everything, be it keeping on top of the housework, reading everyday or whatever. If I am in the zone I can do it. As soon as my routine gets broken I go to pieces and find it almost impossible to get back on track. How do I get back on track after forced breaks?

To further frustrate me, dh took up cycling and he has got really fit and slim. He has lost tons of weight just through cycling and now running. I reckon I must weigh the same as him now and feel like a fat dumpy lard arse who can't stick at things. How do people deal with holidays and stuff?

I don't think you can give up stuff that you like and expect it to stay off tbh. You need to find a way of eating that suits you, I couldn't give up wine forever either!

I could give up cheese, replacing the calcium with zero fat greek yogurt, ice cream, chocolate other than occasionally, bread, cooking with oil, eating fatty cuts of meat, baked potatoes with heaps of butter.

atm I'm basically having one day off h&f ww a week and will see how that goes (I'm on target). I think though that maybe I'm just someone who needed to change a few bad habits rather than someone with a big weight problem.

Oh and I weigh the same as dh also, we are pretty much the same height tho!
