Holiday diet count down...

It's 14 days until I will be leaving for my holiday.

Great yes - but I am going on hols with my very beautiful, very tanned, size 8-10 sister who has just the most amazing figure she doesn't have to work for.

I'm not being a jealous cow, me and my sister are best friends and she's so lovely. But man I picked the worst person to lay next to in a swimsuit for a week! Haha

So I've been dieting and working hard for months and gone from 11st 11 to 11st 4. Then hit a rut with a family loss, then began again and went to 10st 10. Started my new pre holiday diet and currently 10st 7 with 2 weeks to go. Aiming for a realistic 10st 2.

Anyone else doing a holiday weight loss count down?

Me!
I started on Monday. Going on holiday on 1st July and would like to lose half a stone by then. Currently 9.7 but am only 5.2 and feel very flabby..and crucially none of my trousers fit at the moment.
I'm not following any plan as such but am aiming for low fat/low calorie and cutting out all the chocolate and biscuits etc. Struggle to exercise due to health problems but am going to try to do some arm weights to work on the bingo wings.
So far this week I've done well but I quickly lose motivation so would be keen to have a check in thread.

It sounds like you have done really well so far..are you following a plan?

Hey,

I think 99% of the battle is motivation.

I just try to do what I can when I can. I have some weights at my house so I do arm weights, sit ups etc in front of the TV if I am watching something.

I am following the lemonade diet on the 'so feminine website'.

Tmi but I've just come on my period today and am always at least 2-3lbs heavier but even with that I've lost 4lbs this week.

I recommended making some really easy to eat stuff that you can put in the fridge and heat up etc. I have just had a vegetable stew (I know sounds gross) but it was yummy! Potatoes, onions, chick peas, kidney beans, butter beans, celery, peppers, carrots - fry onion in a pan, add other veg for 5 mins. Cover in vegetable stock and a tin of chopped tomatoes and boil - cover and simmer for 10mins.

Even my 5 year old DS loved it. Smile

Stew sounds nice! And well done on the weight loss :)
I've had a positive day today..no rubbish foods!
Porridge for breakfast
Salad for lunch
Fruit salad for snacking
Frittata for dinner

The weekend might be more tricky! I'm hoping I'll have lost come monday though.

How is it going bubaloo?
So far so good for me..I'm having a couple if weekend g&ts but otherwise trying to stick to healthy eating. I've been out all day with friends in a country park but managed to have beans on toast for lunch so was pleased with myself.

Hi Smile

Very well thank you. I've eaten no rubbish at all but it is the hubby's birthday next week so I want to save my 'treat day' until then.

To be honest it's been quite easy. I am for once so focused on what I want because I have that unmovable goal of my holiday date (11th June).

It's been a tough week for exercise as DS has been at home all weeks or half term but I've done what I can and I'm going to hit it really hard next week with gym sessions, hiking, dog walking and anything else I can fit in!

I glad it's going well for you. I must say the hardest thing is the preparation so I find if I spend 2-3 hours one day cooking some wholemeal pasta, new potatoes, chicken breast, boiled eggs, vegetable soup etc and put them all in Tupperware in the fridge I have lots of meals ready to go. Chicken and pasta with lots of salad. Chicken new potatoes and veg. Heat up the soup with a wholemeal roll etc. I had a 2 egg omelette tonight with 2tbsp of grated cheese and some tomatoes then veg on the side. Strawberries and a banana for dessert.

Wink

Sounds like it's going well ! I agree that the preparation is key..I always fall of the wagon when I find myself hungry with no plan.
Today I went out for lunch again but had poached eggs on toast and am still full so will have something light this evening. I've got lots of salady things in for work lunches for the next couple of days so will have salad with either cottage cheese, tuna or humous and falafel.
Weigh in tommorow and am hop to have lost a couple of pounds as it's week one but generally it takes me a long time to shift wait as I'm only 5.2.

'Weight' obviously. Clearly need a sugar fix ;)
