Weight loss - my day by day challenge

Changing my life one day at a time.
I am 14 stone and about 3 stone overweight. Having tried for a baby for three years with three failed IVF rounds behind us, and a recent miscarriage, I have decided I need to change my weight. My weight is something that has troubled me all my life. I am a comfort and a habit eater I default to food when I am happy, sad, upset or bored. I decided yesterday this needed to change. I have been on every diet doing for soups and milkshakes, to starving myself. What this has taught me is:
Diets dont work
They make you fatter
They make you depressed and neurotic

Yesterday I read an article in good housekeeping by a lady who realised she needed to lose 42 pounds and set about it by aiming for a pound per week and treating food like fuel. Her mantra was identify more, less and none and then tweak as required.
This is my journey.

Day One
Weight 14 stone (ish havent weighed myself for a few days and away will weigh myself on sat)
Using my iPhone notes I have set out my new boundaries:
More movement (have a do yoga reminder in my work calendar). Think about what I am eating. Chew more. Drink more water and eat really slowly (I am eat super quick and finish my food before my hubby even gets his 2nd/3rd mouthful in)
Less alcohol, carbs and fat just picking better food we all know that cream has more calories than lettuce! Eating when I am not hungry
None diet coke (I know there are no calories but the sweetener in it is really bad for you!). Mayonnaise and fried food.
Well I am off to a good start - took salad and fruit to work with me today as I travelled around the country, went to tesco at lunch and didnt buy a big sandwich dinner in a hotel would normally mean disaster for me but ordered two healthy starters and a glass of wine and feel full and not stuffed 
Hope others find my journey useful wish me luck
