Pesto - how fattening is it really? how many point/syns?

If I'm making pasta with pesto, I always have to add a lot because I like the strong flavour _ I also use pesto as a kind of spread on oatcakes abt a teaspoon on each.
Is this really bad and what's keeping me lardy? Am guessing there's a fair amount of salt in it too?
Would love to know how much it is in points/or syns
Thanks in advance
Anela

I'd like to know too

make your own then you'll know exactly how much is in it and you could make it really garlicky..

SW do a free on green version - hold on it's in this months magazine, I'll get it!

4 garlic cloves
tsp grated lemon zest
juice one lemon
8tbsp chopped basil
7 oz quark
salt and pepper

Crush garlic and whizz in food processor with lemons, basil and quark then season!

Sounds ok doesn't it. Must give it a try but I love the parmasan and olive oil in the real stuff!

apparently on nocount its 3 points for a medium portion

AnelaSunshine · 31/08/2006 22:03

Don't know about nocount but used to do "normal" WW and the concept of 3 out of my precious 18 points sounds way too much! Oh arse.
Thanks for the recipe mycatfatzak, what is quark though? I thought it was a computer programme?!

Quark is a virtually fat free soft cheese. To be honest it doesn't taste of much but is quite good to make creamy pasta sauces etc.
