anyone want to start a walking challenge?

I really don't have much time for exercise (I know, I know) but I'd like to start walking more. I have one of those Nike fuelband things so I'm trying my best.

Does anyone fancy joining me?

We can set our own goals, so steps or miles etc?

I'm going to get ready for lunch but will check back at lunch to see if anyone is in?

I'm in! I try and walk a little bit each day (school runs and such) but I need to spend more time doing more and walking a couple of miles each day. It should be achievable in half an hour or so if I power it.

Yes please! I started off doing this a couple of weeks ago using Map My Walk. I was aiming for at least 3.5km 5 times per week (takes about 45 minutes for me to walk that) but I stopped because I was too busy/wasn't organised enough/didn't make it a priority Blush.

However, I need to get fitter and I can't run due to an old war wound in my ankle.

I am definitely going to do it, though, but probably can't realistically start until the beginning of June because I'm going on holiday with the family for a week on Sunday and I am frantically busy in these few days leading up to it.

But place marking for when I get back!

I have been planning to start walking everyday for ages. Yesterday I finally got up off my arse left the house and walked for 30 mins turned round and came home. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I plan on doing the same today.

I dont have a pedometer but reckon I walked about 4 miles.

I just started walking to get fit last week. Today was my 5th time out I have managed just over 5k each time. Does take me about 55mins according to map my walk. Am doing scottish slimmers too so hoping to see a improvement in my weight this week. 1 stone 11lbs to loose!!

Oh good, plenty of people for a challenge. I'm thinking maybe set a weekly goal rather than daily so you can have a lazy day if needed without feeling guilty.

At work just now but will come back this evening once dcs in bed. :)

Well I managed 22 miles last week averaging 14 minutes a mile. Lost 7lbs but that was my first week of dieting and exercise. Am using that map my walk app it's good for keeping me motivated.
