Wondered if anyone had any hints or suggestions. I'm breastfeeding my 6 month old ds and have been doing slimming world for 5 weeks online. I'm still carrying lots of baby weight (ds was 98th centile and I gained 4 stone in pregnancy) and although weight came off without trying after he was born I'm stuck at 2 stone overweight and nothing seems to be shifting it. I'm so hungry breastfeeding, and although am sticking to slimming world have only lost 2lbs. Any tips?

It's maybe just a plateau you have to work through which is disheartening but with persistence you will get through it.

Do you do much exercise? I know it's difficult, esp when BF but that could help speed things up a bit

Sorry if I haven't been much help

Thanks for replying. I try to exercise but am limited due to the bf and some complications from the delivery. Am walking everyday. I guess I will just have to keep trying, will hopefully start losing soon.

Are you having your 1/3 superfree every time you eat? Drinking enough so you're not mistaking thirst for hunger? Eating until you're satisfied rather than stuffed? Apologies if these are obvious for you, but I did SW at a group and these were what the teacher told us were the most common mistakes - if you're doing it online presumably you can't ask for someone to read through your food diary? You could post it on here if you like, see if there's anything you're missing?

no consolation but I found the last stone of baby weight lurked until after I had stopped breastfeeding with the first two dc. It was as if my body was keeping it in reserve in case of famine....

Sincerely hoping the same is true of dc3 or I will have to start exercising... Grin

@Rockchick, I'm probably not drinking enough - I always seem to forget to drink during the day. I'm eating lots of fruit and veg but somehow they just don't seem to feed me. Today for example I had muesli and banana with semi skimmed milk for breakfast (I weighed the muesili), had a tuna salad for lunch with balsamic vinegar and only superfree veg, snacked on apples, strawberries and popcorn and then for dinner had lean grilled lamb with dry roasted vegetables and couscous, with a muller light for dessert. And I am still hungry. @NotMrsTumble, that's what some of my friends have said but I don't want to stop bf just yet so will have to persevere.

Oh forgot to add, well done for BF for so long :)

It's hard isn't it? My rule was to have a pint of water and the remote control next to me every time I fed.
As the weather gets better you'll be able to do more walking which will help as it will burn calories and take your mind off eating. When I was b/feeding I always felt "entitled" to eat what ever I wanted and this only changed when I stopped.
It's only when I stopped I really started concentrating on "me".

Hmmmmm this is not much help is it? You've done brilliantly, and your job now is feeding. Give yourself time.

Thanks all. Will set myself the goal of drinking water each time I feed ds tomorrow and see if that helps.
