Need to lose 1 stone of pregnancy weight

Help! Breastfeeding small baby, not my first, and never seem to be able to shed any weight until I stop. Have lots of weddings this summer, starting with one in 5 weeks and would love to get rid of at least a stone by end of summer, and to lose 6/7 lbs for the one in 5 weeks. Main issues are eating way too much chocolate when I'm tired with baby/ other kids, scoffing children's tea and general hunger when breastfeeding.
Need motivation. And a plan! I know it's not a very serious problem, but I'm the fattest I've ever been and feel rubbish!

Can I join you too? I am not what you'd call overweight but am almost a stone over my pre pregnancy weight. Am breastfeeding and hungry all the time so tend to reach for the chocolate and snacks whenever I get peckish. DC3 is 10 weeks old and feeds a lot. I am embarrassed at the sheer quantity of junk I eat, but maybe if I write it down I will be shamed into eating better. Yesterday I ate crunchy nut cornflakes with milk at breakfast, with a hot chocolate. Snacked on chocolate eggs. Lunch was a McDonald's Quarter pounder meal with diet coke plus DS2'S chocolate shake which he decided that he didn't like. Back home I had chocolate digestives mid afternoon with another hot chocolate. Dinner was sausages in a chilli glaze with sweet potato mash, more chocolate throughout the evening and a hot chocolate before bed.

I hope that today is a bit better though SIL and nieces are coming today and we are having lunch at Frankie and Benny's so it will be pretty calorie laden. Will update later, but it's 10am and no chocolate consumed so far!

Of course, hi SugarMice. I'm still doing the photographing what I'm eating on my phone and I think it's working- I know it sounds a bit silly, but it makes me think about what I'm eating a lot more and rather than stuffing my face with everything in sight I am resisting things. Have had to up my bottle feeding to 2 or 3 bottles a day though, cos I'm too tired to breastfeed as much as I need to and lose weight. I feel a bit shallow for caring about my weight that much!

And welcome to all the other new people too. Hope you're all coping with trying to resist and look after little ones! Sometimes I'm not quite sure if it's worth it if it makes you even more tired. But am trying!

Ok. So yesterday: bowl of all bran, banana, cheese sandwich, satsuma, lick of chocolate fudge icing whilst cake making Blush, fruit flapjack, spaghetti with meatballs in tomato and chilli sauce, four squares of garlic flatbread, piece of afore mentioned chocolate fudge cake. Drinks: cup of tea x 3, big glass of water x 5.

Today: 3 rashers bacon in white roll, mussels in white wine sauce with baked potato wedges (no frites!), piece chocolate cake with scoop ice cream.
Drinks cup of tea x 3, latte x 1, half bottle of koppaberg.

Not so good is it when it's all written down. Wedding shopping tomorrow so that may shame me into action once I've had my cream cake in John Lewis

Friday was better food wise, but been feeling pretty down today and have comfort eaten a lot of junk food. Started well with sugar free muesli and a banana, lunch was a big bowl of chunky soup and dinner pizza, both homemade though so less fatty than shop bought versions. In between though I have munched on flapjacks, Easter eggs and After Eights!

Same here sugar mice. Had a crap day (as most are at the minute) and so I eat bad things. Even though the way I look makes me feel unhappy, I still eat.
Always feel worse when it's grey and rainy too. I NEED sunlight. Come on spring!

ChaffinchOfDoom · 26/04/2014 21:23

was ok today until after dinner...
then got the total chocolate munchies and had about 4 different puddings goddamnit

Hello! Please may I join? I am in a similar boat to a few of you - third DC is now 10 weeks old but I'm still about 10 kgs above pre-pregnancy weight. Am sure I lost the weight faster with the other two!

Am also doing a program called Kickstart at my local children's centre. It's focused on good eating for the under 5s although I'm hoping to get some tips to improve my eating too. Here's hoping.

Good luck to us all.

Today was going well - yoghurt and half slice of toast for breakfast, bowl of cereal for lunch, chicken stir fry and noodles for dinner. Then dd became ill, cue a trip to ooh GP, just got home and eaten almost half bar lindt salted chocolate because I'm feeling a bit stressed (she's going to be ok).

Ho hum. Try again tomorrow...

Has anyone had much success? I have been trying really hard and have managed to lose 2/3lb in just under 2 weeks which I'm relatively happy with. Have gone on a couple of slow jogs and have been walking every day, plus have quit milk chocolate almost entirely in favour of dark. And have also found eating when the kids eat tea is better than waiting for DH to get home because otherwise I am starving and eat loads or just eat 2 suppers. Have also upped veg serving to half the plate of food. Anyway it's slow but steady, just got to stay on the wagon. Hope others are having a bit of success too. Good luck all!
