I need to do this ladies I hoping so of you do too we can support each other. I've lost 4 and 1/2 stone since before I was pregnant and I be got 7 more pounds to lose. I keep putting on a 1 or 2 then losing it so have hovered around the 11.3 since Xmas. But this is it I'm going to lose this last 7 lbs :)
Not on any diet just will cut out the sweet stuff and exercise more maybe try 30 day shread?

Me. Fortunately, I only had 1.5 stone to lose but have been stuck on 9st 3lbs for about the last 3 weeks. This is despite doing aerobics or circuits approx 4 times a week, walking a mile to work daily (bus home) and hula hooping for 10 minutes daily. I also try to keep between 1200-1400 cals per day.

Wishfulmakeupping · 17/04/2014 08:24

Wow sounds like you're doing loads and being really strict too wish I could be so good!

Oh me, me! Similar to you wishful - lost 5 stone but have the stubborn last bit to go. Want to get under 11 stone but just seem to have settled around 11 and a half. Might have to accept this is the weight I'm meant to be but will give it one last push to get it gone.

Whats the plan??

Wishfulmakeupping · 17/04/2014 08:25

Should have mentioned in OP that I'm 5.10 as my goal weight might seem still heavy but obviously I'm tall so that's why :)

Me!! I'm at the top end of the ideal bmi ratio and just want to lose 5 or 6 pounds to get to where I want to be. I haven't really been trying very hard though. I want to change my habits in such a way that I can maintain it. I could probably cut out all chocolate for a few weeks and lose a few pounds, but it's keeping those pounds off forever that is my challenge!!

vanillavelvet · 17/04/2014 08:31

And I can't cut out chocolate forever!! Wink

FiloPasty · 17/04/2014 08:32

Me, I'm getting married later this year you.
My downfall is wine and the copious amount of Easter chocolate already in our house.

Wishfulmakeupping · 17/04/2014 09:08

Yes its chocolate for me too- bloody twirls I'm looking at you! I need to cut out the nightly twirl/dime bar treats and the mid morning biscuits at work. That's easy right?!

Me.

I've got a Florida holiday coming up in June and possibly getting married later this year and I need to lose some weight!

I'm 5 ft 4 and I weigh 10 st 3. I'm a size 10 but feel a bit chunky at this weight and about 6 or 7lbs makes all the difference to me.

I've started this week and I just eat three times a day, no snacks and no bread or pasta. So, not low carbing as such, more moderate carbing.

I'd kill for a chocolate bar right now though

BreakingBod · 17/04/2014 15:36

Me!! I'm using mfp to log calories but have also linked it to my Fitbit so I can earn more cals through exercise. I haven't actually properly started yet though, I'm just psyching myself up to start after getting some pre-arranged meals and nights out done and dusted. Realistically it'll be next Wed when I get going properly but I have started logging already and am attempting to cut down a bit in preparation.

FairPhyllis · 17/04/2014 16:11

I'm in. I'm going away at the end of May and I really want to be able to buy my new jeans for that trip. I've already lost about 22lbs (am now 9st 8.5) and feeling loads better for it but I would ideally like to be around 9st 2.

I've been calorie counting on MFP (eating just above 1400/day) and we have a cross trainer at home which tells you how many calories you have burned off, so I am using that most days and running on the others. I gave up chocolate for Lent which has helped, and I don't drink alcohol at all.

Shred was good for me at the beginning of losing weight but I am such a wimp I have never got beyond level 1! I think you do need to do some form of exercise every day. I got stuck around 9 st 10 for a long time and then looked at how much exercise I was doing and realised it just wasn't enough.

Wishfulmakeupping · 17/04/2014 16:13

Same here I'm 'properly' starting on tues next week after I've got this weekends meal out and chocolate all eaten ;)
Weirdly out of the blue my oh said he's going to try losing some weight which mean that he won't be bringing temptation into the house hopefully we can keep each other on track!

fair how many calories do you aim to burn off on crosstrainer or running I've got a treadmill that does the same but not sure what I should aim for?

OP posts:
FairPhyllis · 17/04/2014 16:33

I am aiming to lose at the rate of a pound a week and doing it both through exercise and reducing calories. SO:

I'm eating about 230 calories under what MFP tells me is my required daily intake for my weight if I don't do any exercise, which means I then additionally need to burn off at least 270 calories a day through exercise to lose a pound. Generally I am doing somewhere in the 330-340 range per day though, which allows me to have one day a week off or do something less strenuous on one day. When I run it's about the same amount I think (I run about 3.5 miles) but I am guesstimating that using online calculators because I don't have a Fitbit. It usually takes me about 25mins on the crosstrainer or a bit longer for running because I am a crap runner.

I've done this religiously for the last two weeks and lost two pounds so the estimates must be about right. The crucial thing is that you don't then eat the calories you've just burned, like MFP tells you to!

BreakingBod · 18/04/2014 08:44

That's good timing then Wishful.

I usually have a good routine of exercise classes but haven't been able to get to them for the past 2 weeks as DS is off for the Easter hols - but I'll get back into it next week.

I've also decided to give up wine!! After a meal out last night I added over 1000 cals from alcohol..!!

MegBusset · 18/04/2014 08:48

I'm in. I've been trying to lose half a stone since Christmas but keep getting sidetracked by illness, stress or special occasions with lots of wine and chocolate! Have just got back from holiday so am starting today. Will be counting on mfp and running or shredding a few times a week.

Tiredemma · 18/04/2014 08:49

me- ive really got stuck at this weight now for about 6 weeks. Could do with some motivation to shift!

BreakingBod · 18/04/2014 10:31

I've just started reading through a really inspiring thread in food\recipes about healthy eating - it's 40 pages long so I haven't got all the way through yet (!) but it's making me think that I should be focusing on eating healthy meals and cutting down on crappy snacking rather than counting calories. I'm making a tuna and egg salad for lunch as a result Grin. I'm going to make a big effort to eat more fruit and veg, and less sugary snacks, and no booze. Think I'll dig out some cook books and plan some nice meals for the week too.

MegBusset · 19/04/2014 14:18

Got up this morning to shred before breakfast, much to the amusement of DH. Weighed in afterwards, my official start weight is 9st 8lb which I have been since Xmas, give or take a pound. I would love to be 9st but would settle for 9st 2lb.

RufusTheReindeer · 19/04/2014 15:21

May I join?

I have been on the Easter one for a while and lost one and a half stone in time for Easter

I have between 7 and 12 pounds to go until my target and I'm am afraid I've let it slip over the last few week. I've still been losing the weight but letting naughty stuff slip back in

I am going to be as good as gold from Tuesday and I normally weigh in on a Saturday. If I can maintain til next Saturday and lose weight from then I will be happy

MegBusset · 19/04/2014 16:12

Hi Rufus :) I was on that thread but ducked out as I just wasn't in the zone. Hopefully this one will go better!

RufusTheReindeer · 19/04/2014 16:48

meg

I know what you mean, I was in the zone and did well but I still want to lose more and if I don't catch myself I will be running away from the zone!

You've not got too much to lose though have you?

MegBusset · 19/04/2014 17:33

No, and in a way that's the trouble. I'll have a few good days and lose a pound or two, then think "sod it, I look fine like this" and go back to the wine and chocolate. Which is fine, but actually I feel much better around the 9st mark, more comfortable in my skin iyswim.

MegBusset · 19/04/2014 17:36

Also it's harder to lose this last half a stone; two weeks' good work can be undone in two days, and I'm not that great at long-term self-denial! I think the key for me will be exercising (every day if possible) so I can carry on with the wine :)

RufusTheReindeer · 19/04/2014 18:10

Good plan (once Easter is out of the way)
