I am trying to lose about a stone/stone and a half. Have lost 4-5lbs so far in the last 5 weeks...it feels really slow going. Is this normal? Is there anything I could do to speed things up without properly "dieting" iyswim. I turn into such a ratty person if hungry/blood sugar low that I do not want to inflict a diet on my family.
Have not really had to try to lose weight before.. Weight may go up a bit at times and I just cut the snacks and upped my exercise a iut then weight would just go back to normal without too much faff. 2 Excercise classes a week would be good maintainance. Add in a few extra (eg post birth) and would equal weight loss.
But now this had all changed. I am now on levothyroxine for an under active thyroid. I may have to adjust/up the exercise in the future for maintainance..will have to wait and see.
But am not at that point yet. Went up from 9 St 12 to 11 stone in about 2 months at the end of last year..an unfortunate combination of breaking my foot..ergo no exercise, rubbish convenience diet due to lack of mobility and being on too little thyroxine..leading to weight increase. Am now on the right doseage thank heavens) but just got to shift the pounds I gainef .
I am using MyFitnessPal..currently on about 1500cal a day on a normal day. This us often net "less" due to exercise.. I do a couple of 5k runs a week plus 2 or 3 cardio \HIIT classes and a weights class. Really what more could I do? Is it just keep going at a pound a week loss? Just feeling a bit disheartened really. Or impatient
.
Any advice gratefully received as new to this under active thyroid malarky and not enjoying this "hard to lose weight" side effect.
