For me, lemon squash to encourage myself to drink between 2 and 3 litres a day - it works. The other product is Highlights Hot Chocolate, it feels like a bit of a treat in the evenings and it's filling because it is hot. I am not delighted that with both of those products I am consuming a lot of chemicals and artificial sweeteners, but I can't see a cheap and quick alternative.

I also try to have sugarfree chewing gum handy and Oraldine, as my breath is always beyond minging when I diet, which is one of the things that often makes me quit.

I'd love to hear what are your absolutely must have products that help you stick with your diet.

and if I had put a comma in between 'foods' and 'canned' my post would have made more sense...

Sparkling water
Massive batches of lentil soup
Tinned chick peas
Tinned tuna
Eggs
Lots of veg

And the odd bit if diet coke for when true desperation sets in, but no more than once or twice per week for reasons mentioned by other posters.

argh - one portion, not one person!

Apple sauce
Home made soups
Eggs (hard-boiled eggs are a great quick snack which fill you up)
Cottage Cheese
Fruit/Veg - cut up in advance if got the time/inclination/chopping board out
Hummus
Teas - love mint tea when slimming!
Rice cakes (good with peanut butter as a treat)
Dates - good when craving sugar

I make sure I don't have any treats in that I can't resist i.e. chocs, cakes - crisps and savoury stuff I don't care about so they are allowed.
