I am going to lose this 2 stone, for good!!

FlossyMcgrew · 03/03/2014 12:19

I will be taking "after" pictures on July 1st.

I took before pictures yesterday and they are awful. I have at least 2 stone to lose. I have joined other threads here before, with some success. Then quit after getting halfway to my goal and gaining everything back in half the time it took me to lose it.

I am 5 foot 6, have been wavering around the 12 stone mark since having my 2 dc within 13 months. Youngest is now 2.

In my "before" pictures (which I won't post until I get to post them with my afters!). It is painfully obvious that nearly all of my weight is around my middle. This is particularly worrying as my family history is full of diabetes, heart problems, cancer, strokes- you name it.

My plan is this:

MFP to track my calories

30 day shred or alternate 30 min workout 5 times a week

More conscious eating. Re-reading Paul McKenna, "I Can Make You Thin."

Easy on the carbs. My current 2 slices of toast breakfast, 2 slice of bread sandwich and crisps lunch, and insert random carb heavy dinner here, is doing me and my middle no favours.

Drink more water. At least 4 pint glasses per day.

Chew gum instead of mindless snacking.

No baking. I can think up any excuse to bake, and then of course I have to test my product--no more!

And that is basically it.....

I am hoping that I can make all of these things my new way of life, rather than a diet.

I am tired of hating myself in every picture.

I am tired of refusing to buy new clothes in this size, and looking like a slob as all of my clothes are old and don't fit properly.

I want to be healthy and I want to be here for my kids for as long as possible.

I want to be a good example for my kids.

I would like to feel attractive again.

I am going to check in here at least once a week. Monday morning weigh in to keep me honest over the weekends. Please feel free to join me, or cheer me on.

I don't want to be a diet bore in real life so I am going to use this thread for my rambling instead.

So here goes......

Don't be too hard on yourself, Funky just sounds like a domino effect from skipping breakfast. Maybe the best thing to do, especially as you know the next few days could be challenging, is to really plan ahead. Make a very strict meal plan and stick to it. Even down to snacks.

Although howiwonder that panini sounds delicious.....

Freezing the cake is very good thinking RunningKatie!

My DH is away on Thursday this week, maybe we should have a virtual boot up the backside meeting?

I feel a motivational picture coming on, gimme a minute!

Oooooops.... I possibly drunk my entire daily allowance in alcohol last night. :(

FlossyMcgrew · 09/04/2014 09:19

Awww, Sleepingbunnies we've all been there. Did you at least have fun? :)
How are you feeling today? Drink tons of water.

Ok, this week, and it is only Wednesday, I have done:
M - Jazzercise 1he
T - swimming with toddler (so expended more energy getting Tod. Undressed and dressed
W - 4-5 mile walk around Plymouth (been to the Hoe, Barbican and it's very hilly) AND as I noticed tod. had a bit too much energy after tea we've just been for a half hour stroll.

That ought to make up for putting on weight last week. Oh, and more buggy walking tomorrow as we head to Looe.

How much have you walked this week?!

Sleepingbunnies · 09/04/2014 20:00

5.5 miles yesterday and today

6 miles on Monday :)

RunningKatie · 09/04/2014 21:09

Ooooh, I now have that song running through my head "what have you done today to make you feel proud?"

I suspect the answer "eating a lot of lemon cake wouldn't be correct" Hmm

Tomorrow I am going to mow the lawns, PIL are taking the DC's so I intend to sort out and tidy up before DH comes back on Saturday.

Hope today has been ok Funky, good luck for your flying solo day tomorrow Flossy.

I have been contemplating ordering a takeaway delivery for tomorrow evening, I've never done that whilst DH is away, what am I thinking? It was going to be curry if that helps?!

Dudess · 09/04/2014 22:26

Haha, doesn't sound very sleepy, sleeping bunnies - way to go!

RunningKatie can you get to a supermarket for a ding meal for tomorrow? Lots of healthy ranges, and if you eat in the container just as much washing up as a takeaway! I rely on posher 'Finest' ready meals when Mr Dudess is away. Oh, and I'm now hearing Heather Small - ta!

FunkyBarnYard · 10/04/2014 07:08

I went out to buy mackerel and samphire last night. Had it with a small amount of boiled potato.

Feeling a bit run down and off colour this week.

Week off work next week, hopefully I can take it easy x

Sleepingbunnies · 10/04/2014 07:17

We are going away for the weekend... This 4lb weight loss is going straight back on isn't it? :(

Sleepingbunnies · 10/04/2014 17:04

Feeling proud! :)

I am going to lose this 2 stone, for good!!
RunningKatie · 10/04/2014 20:06

Yay sleepingbunnies - brilliant work.

I love samphire funky, where did you get it from?

I got a ding meal for tonight, great suggestion thank you Dudess Smile - chicken tikka masaala healthy option, I did top it off with two freddo frogs though.

36 odd hours till DH comes home, I can do it, I can do it, I can do it.....

FlossyMcgrew · 10/04/2014 22:04

Evening all!

I had actually never heard that song before, DH thought I was crazy and played it for me on YouTube, not sure if you are thanking me for getting it stuck in your heads! It's very....dramatic :)

Also, first time I've ever heard "ding meal" took me a minute to work that out (it's microwave, right?)
And I had to google samphire--I'm learning so much here!

Seems like everyone has been so active, that's fantastic. I am still half heartedly plodding along with the shred. Really need to change it up probably.

DH is away tonight and I haven't had a drink, or a biscuit, or any chocolate, or popcorn. I actually had kale and eggs for breakfast, and I liked it?! Who am I?? :)

Tomorrow is my first "mini goal" it's my birthday! May do a sneaky weigh in to check my progress, and then try not to blow if over the weekend.

Good luck everyone.

Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday dear Flossy
Happy birthday to you!

I tend to call them ping meals because the microwave goes ping Grin

Samphire is yum, I'm originally from norfolk and it grows wild there so you can harvest it.

I've stood on the scales today, no change since monday which is such a relief. Doing a 3k fun run tomorrow, which means pushing two toddlers in a buggy, so not necessarily fun. Hopefully dh will be back at lunchtime so i can then collapse in a heap.

FlossyMcgrew · 11/04/2014 10:36

Thanks RunningKatie! You have the voice of an angel :)

Good luck with your "fun" run tomorrow, and yay for your dh's return!

So far for my birthday I gave got: my period, and the news that my dc will probably be getting chicken pox any minute now, oh and a next gift card!

But, I am down a pound! 11 stone 10 as of this morning, let's see if I can keep that off for my Monday weigh in, guaranteed cakeage this weekend!

OP posts:
FunkyBarnYard · 11/04/2014 13:27

I get samphire from morrisons or tesco. Tesco tends to be a little cheaper!

5hours til my DP is home. And we are both off work for 11 lovely days!!

Tiredemma · 11/04/2014 13:29

sleepingbunnies

what is that app on your phone?

FunkyBarnYard · 11/04/2014 16:22

Singing and dancing along to his as I clean

My fella will be landing any minute!!!!!

RunningKatie · 11/04/2014 16:38

Lucky you Funky, my dh is getting on a ferry soon - also known as a booze cruise! Wink

I have just had a genius idea if i do say so myself. It's a beautiful evening, the dc's have had their tea and i don't fancy anything in the house for my dinner.

So powerwalking to the supermarket it is. Once Andy's wild adventures finishes, daren't drag dd away from that! Grin

FunkyBarnYard · 11/04/2014 16:52

He is on English turf again!!!!!

FunkyBarnYard · 11/04/2014 18:57

And he is home!!!!!

Sleepingbunnies · 11/04/2014 20:03

It's called footsteps tiredemma :)

Dudess · 11/04/2014 21:14

Yay, well done on the weight loss, Flossy, and Happy Birthday!

I was 2 of the 3lbs down that I put on last week. Really really want to shift a stone before the end of May!

Not much exercise today, but not much cakeage either

RunningKatie · 11/04/2014 21:24

Not the best birthday gifts Flossy! Apart from the gift card obviously.

Are you doing anything nice with your time off Funky?

DH is on his ferry. Docks at 8am, should be home for midday. Smile

FunkyBarnYard · 12/04/2014 08:09

I have put on again. Not a lot. But .2 of a kilo.

Annoying I need to start again

Total weight loss now only 2.9kgs
