Weightwatchers - could someone tell me how many points I would be entitled to?

A friend of mine has lost quite a lot of weight on WW and has given me a copy of her book with all the food and points in. I love the fact that you can still drink wine and have some foods that have no points .

Anyway, I'm 5ft 9 and weight 12 stone. I was 11 stone for years and years and feel quite happy at that weight so only want to lose a stone. How many points a day would that be.

Thanks.

Hi, I did ww for a while a couple of years ago, from what I remember if you weigh between 10 and 12 stone you get 20 points a day. I ate lots of beetroot and sugar free jelly! And made sure I got a half hour walk in every day so I got three bonus points to spend on booze! Good luck with it xx

I'm doing WW at the moment - I'm 5ft 5, originally weighed 12st 9 (now down to 12st 2!) I'm on 21 points a day and am steadily losing around 2lbs a week. I reckon if you aim for around 20-21 points you should lose weight easily. Also remember you can "bank" up to 4 points a day to use later on in the week - eg if you have a big night out planned. (you can't carry banked points over to the following week though).

good luck!

Yes I would say 20 or 21

Thanks for your replies. I think I might have to join the local club to keep me on the straight and narrow. The thought of a public weighing session should keep me out the biscuit tin

Sorry to butt in....just a quick WW question.

the public weighing...........Is it very public? Does everyone know your weight or are they discreet. Do they just shout out your losses or gains? How exactly is it done?

flutterbee · 15/08/2006 11:42

I can tell you exactly can you tell me how old you are and do you sit down all day or stand most of the day with little sitting or walk most of the time or do physical work all day.

oinker, it's very discreet. Everyone hangs back about 5 feet from the scales. You get on and can see the weight. Your leader will just say "2 lb off / 4 lbs on" etc as she has your card from the week before with her and so knows what you were before. No one is going to know and everyone is so concerned about their own gains and losses that they don't pay attention til it's their turn. So don't worry.
