So frustrated, can anyone look at my food diary and tell me why I'm not losing weight?

I'm 5ft 10in and this morning weighed 10st 12lbs.

Just a few months ago I weighed 10st 2lbs and I just can't get it back :-( I've tried low carb ( plays ah ok with my ibs and I just can't stick to it for more than a week), I've tried just eating natural foods - started putting weight ON and now I'm following my own version of weight watchers and in 3 weeks I've lost ... Nothing.

My usual day -

Breakfast - bowl of all bran with semi skimmed milk and a banana.

Lunch - home-made bolognese, chilli, pasta etc-left overs from night before (all made with low fat stuff and less than 500 calories a portion) with a 0% yoghurt and a bag of snack a jacks.

Dinner - home-made meal, usually a weight watchers recipe, less than 500 cals. Couple of biscuits later in the evening.

Why am I still 10st 12??? I feel horrible and frumpy, my clothes are all too tight and I go on holiday in June. I'm so fed up. Probably doesn't help that I haven't been for a shit in over a week either though :-( so fed up.

I'd keep the cooked lunch and have soup / salad for dinner. It's healthier and makes more sense to eat a bigger meal in the middle of the day than in the evening.

And yes, how old are you? I've noticed I'm developing a little tummy now (early 40s) that I've never had before despite eating as I always have

This is what I would do if I were you:
Breakfast - boiled egg, sliced tomato and 1 slice of toast, or scrambled egg made with one full egg and one egg white and 1 piece of toast

Snack - 6 to 8 almonds

Lunch - large scoop home-made bolognese or chilli, with 1/2 sweet potato and large salad

Snack - carrot batons and spoon of hummous

Dinner - home-made meal consisting of lean protein, mound of green vegetables, half a sweet potato
Dessert - frozen berries with spoon of Greek yoghurt on top

2 litres of still water every single day

You will lose weight if you add more protein and veg and increase the quality of your carbs.

I totally understand you...diets are frustrating, specially when you make efforts and they seem not to be working! Have you tried to track your diet with your smart phone? There's a good app that I use and that it's for free called Watchfit where you can log your daily food and watch your progress, and you can also share it with friends...it makes loosing weight easier and funnier, why not give it a try? I did it and it works for me...I hope this helps! Smile
