you wouldn't get me on stage for love nor money but I love being in the band

suejonez · 04/08/2006 23:19

flutterbee · 04/08/2006 23:30

I'm off to bed now but I am interested to hear about this Oxford meet thing are their any details, and can anyone tell me how far Oxford is from Hastings (south east coast).

suejonez · 04/08/2006 23:31

OOhh I think hastings may be a little far but I come to brighton quite a bit so could meet for a coffee then. (Skinny latte obviously)

JackieNo · 04/08/2006 23:33

Now that I've seen sue's pic, I think I'm going to have to head off too - my eyes are getting heavy (much like the rest of me). It's been loads of fun tonight. Talk to you tomorrow.

Just to try and join in - my marvellous norkage is...... 38H!!

Welcome Flutterbee.

winnie · 05/08/2006 14:40

I am having a bad day
Am thinking maybe I need to try to maintain my weight than beat myself for not losing weight right now. I have a whole host of difficult personal stuff to deal with right now and my stress levels are high

today I have already eaten:
8 chocolate biscuits
2 crumpets and marmite
a yogurt
bread, cheese and pesto
raisins
several glasses of grapefruit juice
& 2 individual bakewell tarts a friend brought with her when she came for coffee

I am very cross with myself but can't get out and do anything/see anyone as a I am awaiting a delivery.

I would have liked to have could come to the meet up it sound like fun and Oxford isn't too far from me but I will be away that week so maybe next time. I am sure you'll all have a good time.

JackieNo · 05/08/2006 17:03

Oh winnie, sorry to hear you're having a bad day. Hope your delivery arrives soon. Like you say, maybe don't stress about quantities, but try to make healthy choices where you can - that's exactly the sort of thing I've been trying to do. Hope your day improves, too.

suejonez · 05/08/2006 19:16

Winnie I've been struggling this week too, I've just decided to ease of for a little while and try to eat as much as I want of the healthier stuff. I bought myslf a pack of Sushi in M&S for a treat at teatime today and I'm going to make myself a really big plate of pasta for dinner, I've managed to avoid sweet stuff and pies this week which was my downfall last week and if I can hold my weight level this week I think I can start again next week feeling that this week had some pupose and pick it up again.

It's about this pschological point in most diets that I give up, so it will mean a lot to me to just ride this one out and get back to losing weight afterwards. Perhaps we can both do that?

suejonez · 05/08/2006 19:18

PS crumpets and marmite are really not bad if you don;t add butter (if you need to butter them use low fat philly) - they are a staple of mine I keep a pack in the freezer at all times.

flutterbee · 06/08/2006 11:31

Morning everyone, well today is my last day of eating whatever crap I want to and boy do I mean to make the most of it

I'm off shopping in a bit to grab some low fat/ healthy food so I have no excuse tomorrow, then we are going for a walk on the seafront and I shall try and talk dh into eating chips, candy floss fresh doughnuts and all the other seasidey type things.

OK so how do I do this on here then, I am planning to weigh myself tonight early evening and keep re-weighing myself every week at about the same time, however I know that you all have a weigh in each week so do you all do that on the same day or do you just post your weights throughout the week?

Also any ideas of really nice tasting food that you eat would be helpful because when I dieted before I was single and childless so I could eat weight watchers meals and stuff like that but now I want to be cooking etc so any help would be appreciated, and is it worth while joining weight watchers on line (my nearest meeting is too far away)

Sorry for all the questions, I expect I shall be like this for a few weeks until I settle into it.

Littlefish · 06/08/2006 11:54

Morning flutterbee

To start with, you can choose to e-mail WWB with your starting weight, or you can just choose to e-mail her your weight losses each week.

We e-mail her on a Wednesday night, and she posts our losses (or gains) on Wednesday night, or sometimes Thursday mornings. A crown is awarded to the week's top "loser" and you get an award fo each half stone.

The main thing is that a line is drawn under each week, and we start a new thread.

I can't remember the e-mail address off the top of my head, but I'm sure someone else will be along soon.

You will also see that there are some people (like me) who post on this thread, but don't send in weights. Schneebly, Dublindee and Mrs JC have all found out they are pregnant since we started this thread (so watch out!!) so they are monitoring their weight, rather than deliberately losing, and I am having counselling to deal with my emotional issues before really facing my weight loss. We all face similar issues and so, find it incredibly useful and supportive to continue posting.

Good luck this week.

winnie · 06/08/2006 12:05

suejonez & Jackieno, thanks for your comments.
Hopefully today will be a better day

Sue I do think there comes a point in diets when its all or nothing and one slip up leads to ruining the whole thing so i think your idea of taking it easy and maintaining to get yourself through this patch is a good idea.

I haven't even started properly yet but honestly I have so much to contend with right now trying to break the comfort eating habit at this point is somewhat unrealistic. So, if I can maintain and not gain and get through this difficult personal time then that would be a good start. I f I manage to lose weight that will be a bonus.

coppertop · 06/08/2006 12:53

I've just been catching up on this thread and am now worrying about my pelvic floor.

"Reader, I shagged him" has got to be my favourite quote for this week.
