I should be ecstatic but instead I'm crying!
Tonight my wonderful partner surprised me with the holiday of a lifetime, 1 month today we will be in Australia!!
I'm already dreading it! I'm so unhappy with my 14-16 untoned mess that I am in!

I know there are no quick fixes, and not much difference can be made in 1 month, but any suggestions on how I can lose the most flab possible?! :'( :-( :'( :-(

Toning exercises and healthy eating, try the 30 day shred, if you see yourself toning up a bit then you will feel better about yourself, and you've got a great incentive to getting started too :) you lucky thing! X

Big hug. I'm sure your dp didn't want to make you unhappy with such a nice surprise. I don't know from experience but a friend of mine has had a lot of success with slimming world. She looks fab. Can you do some exercise that you enjoy to tone up?

Heathbaby · 27/01/2014 04:22

I want to lose weight too so totally understand your feelings but I really hope once you're there and after your first day in skimpies that you forget to be self conscious. 14-16 is a good and totally normal size and your partner loves you just as you are. X

What a lovely man you have to give you such a surprise - do you think such a wonderful thoughtful man is sitting on MansNet saying "the holiday would be better if the wife was a size 12" WinkWinkSmile

I am guessing most men don't know the difference between size 12 and 14 and 16 - but they know they love you and they know how you make them feel.

Go splurge on a few nice clothes that make you feel nice the size you are and then focus on being happy, truly enjoying the trip, breathing in the different smells, listening to the accents, avoiding all those animals that can kills you, drink the lovely local wine, share new experiences with you man, and laugh a lot. That would make a grand trip.

Sorry I realized I've assumed man and husband - pls forgive me and may all my names be interchangeable with the appropriate man/woman/partner/husband/wife/spouse - sorry

If you follow the advice of toning and eating more fresh food/less sugary processed (if this is how you eat atm), you may find that, while you haven't dropped much weight, you will feel better in yourself - bloating, digestion etc, which may make you feel physically better. It is also a great incentive to carry on eating like that.

Have a fab holiday!

I've just lost 9.5lb in 2 weeks on slimming world. If I'd combined that with exercise I think in 1 month I would feel much better.

Dry your eyes, grab your trainers & throw away all the crap food. (Biscuits etc.) you can do it!!

milkybarsrus · 28/01/2014 17:11

What a lovely surprise. If you have a tummy, then I would go for low carb as within 2 weeks my large size 18 tum has shrunk! It's still there of course, but it doesn't start under my boobs anymore - weird I know! Cutting out sugar, wheat and alcohol could see you a stone less maybe? But if you don't lose weight, please don't feel bad, just get some nice bits and clothes to take with you, have your hair and nails done too, and you'll have a fab time.
