tara: sorry For the of grandma Sad
But well done on resisting all the wrong things.
and brilliant results on scales too.
The next few weeks will be tough but big hugs to you, sounds like you are aware of the risks of emotional eating. My suggestion is if it starts to get on top of you go for a long walk with a pint of water. Take time to think about grandma and then if you still really want the food when yoy get home, cut it in half, put one half away and go into other room to eat it. This worked for me when I lost my mum. I walked miles so it ended up not mattering that I did have the cake or the biscuits it was just important to me not to eat the whole packet.

Cheesyslice · 14/02/2014 19:25

Oh Tara Thanks So sorry for your loss.

Survived my DS's 3rd birthday - managed not to eat cake or crisps although I did have a few mini sausages and 2 gin and slimline tonics to recover afterwards!

Back onto packs only tomorrow! Good luck everyone Smile

tiggermummy70 · 17/02/2014 07:36

Morning everyone. Smile

cheesy hope you got your power back, we have a fault on bolier so it keeps tripping out and needing to be reset. Hoping to get someone to look at it but can't until after payday Angry

tara: good resistant on worst of party food.

course went well yesterday. went on bit longer than planned but it means we don't need to go back next week. I can now coach on the CFR training courses. Grin

SconeForAStroll · 17/02/2014 09:40

Morning all. Well I threatened that I would be back and Here I am!

Sadly the cape doesn't hide the flab.

Lots of new people so a quicksy intro - my name is scone I am fat. I lost three stone on Slim & Save in a little over three months last year - it was great. Then my back went in July.

After mucho mucho mucho pain and heavy duty painkillers (which work better if you take them with something sugary) I put on 3 stone :(

I have had surgery 2 weeks ago because it turned out that my back pain was a prolapsed disc which was threatening to permanently disable me. Which is nice. I now have some lovely holes in my back courtesy of my surgeon and his drill and I am fed up.

So this morning I have restarted s&s and I will bloody shift this weight (actually I have lost six pounds in the last two weeks as my appetite has plummeted post surgery).

Start date 17.2.2014 - start weight 15st 11.

Looking forward to getting to know you.

Cheesyslice · 17/02/2014 16:57

Hi scone, welcome. Did you start the previous VLCD thread by any chance?

Off to weigh in. Very fucking down heartened. I just need to shift this last stone. I just can't do it.

OP posts:
SconeForAStroll · 17/02/2014 17:48

Hah! My garrulousness outs me Wink

Yes, that's me.

You can do this last stone. You have done amazingly well and you've been poorly so your body will be clinging on to any water.

I bet you look bloody stunning. Flowers

Cheesyslice · 17/02/2014 20:55

Ahhh thank you that is so lovely. Thanks bless you.

2lb on tonight however had a long chat with the counsellor. She was great. I've come home and NOT had my Monday night 'treat' which is a big thing for me, and I've had a pack and some veg. A lady at group looked sooooo slim tonight and she's just hit her goal...she inspired me to keep going and hit my goal. Going on holiday on 9th march and want to be in the 9s for then.

How is everyone doing?

OP posts:
tiggermummy70 · 18/02/2014 06:41

SconeForAStroll · 18/02/2014 19:12

Wow tigger that's a terrific loss - well done! I hope you are feeling chuffed with yourself - this isn't an easy way to lose weight but you have worked really hard. Flowers

End of day2 for me and no probs so far - actually it's rather like pulling on a comfortable sweater yes yes I am weird and in my traditional annoying way every day way I was delighted to see I have lost .75 of a pound all ready. :o

SconeForAStroll · 18/02/2014 19:13

Yikes, *weigh

Cheesyslice · 18/02/2014 21:44

Ahh well done tigger.

Oh and I bought myself a new bra today. I've gone from a 38D to a 36B Grin

OP posts:
SconeForAStroll · 18/02/2014 22:12

Don't tell the bra interventioneers - they would probably put you in a 32JJ Wink

Cheesyslice · 18/02/2014 22:46

Whaaaa?? Confused

OP posts:
SconeForAStroll · 19/02/2014 09:43

Did you never catch one of the bra intervention threads [http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/a1694169-To-ask-how-many-of-you-have-had-a-bra-intervention-by-Sorrel-Statistically-and-others old one here]] ?

The idea is that the shops have been lying to us for years and that we are wearing bras that are much too wide around the back and therefore squid going our boobs into cups that are much too small....

SconeForAStroll · 19/02/2014 09:43

Link fail :(

here

SconeForAStroll · 19/02/2014 09:44

Ah autocorrect. How I hate you with a deep passion.

*squidge our

Lovesswimming · 19/02/2014 11:19

Hi everyone, I started yesterday! (And I'm a 32 G so does that mean I'm one of those bra people? It's bravissimo who's to blame for me, but they are in the right place now and I can still breath.....)

So I'm mostly doing slim and save as I have a few left that are not in date, though I have a few Cambridge and exante packs as well. Yesterday I had a slim and save bar, slim and save chilli, exante spag carbonara and a Cambridge chocolate (turned it into hot choc)
Not sure if that's the best idea over all but it means I only have to order porridge for now and I'll have enough for a few weeks Smile

You lot seem to be doing really well.

I'm 12st 8 and I'm happy at about 10 1/2st probably still chunky at that for some people but I'll be about a size 12 so 2 ish stone to lose.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 19/02/2014 12:00

I am coming to the end of week 2 of Exante. Its the TOTM and I am hungry... What is the best option, some extra protein or just to keep ploughing on and try not to snap at the DC?

I have around 5 stone to lose so I am using this as a starting point and habit buster and will gradually move off it on to a healthy diet after a couple of months.
