Well done Igloo. First week losses are always very motivating.

I also find the soups, shakes and meal packs quite boring but in a way, I think it's good for me as it means I don't focus on foods too much.

SoleSource · 23/05/2014 16:00

I'm starting Lighter Life next Thursday at 12.30 pm.

What is the LL forum like?

I have joined the FB group and it is dead.

bendyruler · 31/05/2014 18:01

Marking place

Nessica · 02/06/2014 00:37

Hi Guys... Can I join? I'm starting the Cambridge diet on Tuesday as am desperate! I'm officially rubbish at dieting and really hope a programme like this will help give me the kick start I desperately need. Oh yeah and did I mention I get married in just under 9 weeks time and need to sort myself out.

Any top tips?!? Bit scared of milkshakes if honest as not usually my thing but will try anything!

glad I found this thread, I have looked before and couldn't find a current VLCD one.

I have been on Cambridge for nearly 4 months and have lost over two stone using three packs plus small meal. I have another stone to go. I had a week off around 12 weeks as I had plateaued, but still kept away from carbs.

I am v happy with the diet and my counsellor who gives me the packs.

Favourites are Veg soup, original porridge, lemon & choc orange bars.

You can have the shakes hot or cold, so I occasionally have a hot chocolate which feels like a real treat as I would never have normally drink one of those.

Good luck Nessica & everyone else

bendyruler · 02/06/2014 23:28

Hi I started the Cambridge diet on Sunday it's been ok so far bit headachey and hungry but not too bad, so tomorrow is my third day which I'm a bit scared about as everyone says the third day is the worse. I'd like to lose three stone in time for my 50th in September. Nessica tips... yes I agree with greyhound very cold water is better and shake the mix like crazy to get the lumps out , my favs so far are vanilla, mint chocolate and I've been havingthe cappuccino one for breakfast with extra coffee added. I have only tried the shakes so far so don't know what the soups etc are like oh and drinks loads water ....good luck everyone

Nessica · 03/06/2014 20:57

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the kind words! So, I went along and met my Counsellor today and have my packs. Have gone for Vanilla and Chocolate shakes which I'm going to have for breakfast. I'm going to go the soup route for lunch and dinner and have Vegetable, Thai Chilli and Chicken & Mushroom.

I'm really apprehensive and nervous if honest. Have a lot going on but really NEED to loose this weight before the Wedding so needs must! I got made told I'm being made redundant today too which is totally messing with my emotions and eating!

How are you getting on Greyhound? Tired you are doing amazingly - how do you keep the motivation up? Have you lost that constant desire for food?

Bendy Have you survived the headache and hunger pangs? Feeling ok today?

Tomorrow is D day for me - eeeeek! Going to need you girls!

bendyruler · 03/06/2014 22:38

Hi Ness fantastic you got your packs, when are you going to start? Tomorrow? You'll be fine just drink loads! It was my third day and it has been fine I didn't get any headaches today but am feeling the cold and a bit hungry but nothing too bad. I m sorry to hear about work that's a big worry for you :-( tired your doing really well I hope I can do as well as you!

How did you know your were in ketosis Greyhound? Did you buy some sticks?!?

I started this morning and I've got to be brutally honest it wasn't the best start... I'm not a great morning breakfast person at the best of times but the chocolate shake nearly turned my stomach this morning. I hate milkshake type drinks but she told me I couldn't go onto the bars for two weeks so I guess I need to make the best of this situation. Was just really foamy and sweet/thick... gah!

Am thinking of going for soup lunch and dinner then turning the choc into a hot choc to have a night?!?!

Sat at my desk drinking water trying to stay positive on day one...

Thanks greyhound day 4 and hungry!!! I just keep drinking water and keeping strong. I will not go over the road to Greggs ...and repeat! How are you getting on tiredbuthappyworkingmum ?

tiredbuthappyworkingmum · 04/06/2014 21:19

Currently On a work trip to Manchester and drank lager and ate pizza. First time in four months I have fallen off the wagon so badly.

Whenever I have cheated before I have been ultra good for weeks afterwards, so will do the same, not going to beat myself up over it.

verylowtolerance · 05/06/2014 08:53

I've been on Slim and Save (4 packs a day 640 calories) plus water and black coffee for a week and I haven't lost a flippin' ounce. I lost 11 pounds the first week on Lighterlife a few years ago. I don't know if I am in ketosis but energy levels seem good.

I am perimenopausal and taking Provera. Not sure if that affects it. BMI is 37 ish and GP thinks I should be 6 stone lighter. High BP etc.

Has anyone else experienced this or is S&S just rubbish? Feel like crying!

bendyruler · 05/06/2014 10:24

Hi everyone I hope you all had a good day yesterday. I have just cancelled my appointment with the cambridge consultant on friday I really dont think i can afford it. I'm on 4 packs a day as I'm over 5ft 8" so thats £60.00 a week. I have ordered s&s today instead which is a lot cheaper and hoping it arrives tomorrow. I did a ketosis stick last night which was my 4th day it only went slightly pink so dont know if im in ketosis yet?
Tired- dont worry you have done brilliantly so far and you know you can get back on it, you have had the will power before.. at least it sounds like you had a good time! I would kill for lager and pizza! sorry verylow i have no experience of Provera but I'm sure someone who does will be along soon.

bendyruler · 05/06/2014 10:25

oooh look i worked out how to make name bold

verylowtolerance · 05/06/2014 13:37

Thanks bendyruler.

I can't believe it, I haven't cheated at all! Perhaps I should go for the 3 packs plus meal option. I read about people who fall off the wagon still losing weight and I have cheated on past diets and still lost.

I have ordered some ketosis strips but I think I am in ketosis because my energy level is quite high.

I have lost 'weight' as my clothes are looser but it is not showing on the scales!

bendyruler · 23/06/2014 11:20

How's everyone doing? Its so quiet on this thread would love to hear everyones updates. I have swapped to slim and save and the shakes are lovely ...so I'm on day 23 now and 11llbs lost...whoop whoop!!

alleypalley · 24/06/2014 23:19

Hi. Can I join. I started s&s yesterday, it's been ok so far, today is my longest work day (started at 7am and just finished, and in my break in the afternoon I picked dd up from school and took her to gymnastics, then back to work) so if I can do it today then I should be ok. Apart from dreaming of food last night I'm not missing it too much so far, and I'm managing to ride out the hunger waves with a little distraction.

I did LL 9yrs ago and lost 4.5 stones. I'm hoping for similar results this time, but I'm nearly 40 now and I've heard weight loss gets harder as you get older so I hope I'm not expecting too much.

catinbootz · 25/06/2014 10:45

Anyone here? I'm starting S & S (again) today.

I love the diet but I've had lots of RL crap lately and am now my heaviest ever (12st7lb).

I am a bridesmaid in 6 weeks Confused

I am doing simplicity for a week to get going, then I might add in some lifestyle days.

My weaknesses are bread, cheese and the dreaded vino.

The FB group is ace for meal ideas Smile

catinbootz · 25/06/2014 10:46

I've just had a Banoffee porridge for brekkie. Lush.

alleypalley · 25/06/2014 17:29

Hi catinbootz, I started on Monday. I'm also doing S&S.

The first two days were ok, but I'm feeling a bit head hungry today. I'm just doing the kids dinner before I have my shake. Then I'll have to distract myself with something this evening, as evening is my hardest time of the day. Dh is at work tonight too so I don't even have him to keep me on the straight and narrow.

catinbootz · 25/06/2014 17:33

I find when I'm alone at home the hardest too.

I'm more organised if I'm at work. And if DH works in the evenings I get bored and that's when I go wrong

Pulledapart · 26/06/2014 11:12

Hi all may I join please.

I couldn't sleep last night so spent most of it googling different vlcd options and the cheapest turned out to be Exante so today I have placed an order & taken the plunge Shock

They had 3 for 2 boxes offer (50 sachets in each) which I've taken advantage of. I've got porridge (for breakfast), vegetable soup and shepherds pie (for lunch and dinner). I previously tried slim n save which I hated the taste of but it made me realise one thing I'm better with meals then shakes n bars. So I've bought 7 weeks worth of product Hmm which will arrive tomorrow. So I basically need a kick to get started. I don't want them to arrive and be sitting in my kitchen for weeks!

I should be starting tomorrow all going to plan :)

catinsbootz like you I've got a wedding coming up in August so I'm hoping to lose at least a stone by then (wishful thinking on my part).
