I need to lose 7lbs in a week fast diet diet needed......

2mths ago i went back on the pill after nearly 2years since ds was born.Ive put on a stone . Before ds i was a size 14 when i was on the pill after having him i bf and lost all my baby weight and slimmed down to a size 12. Ive managed to keep the weight off for over an year without even trying that is until i went on the pill! Now i feel like a big blob its all gone to my hips, bum and thighs i need to shift this weight quick is there a diet you can recommend? Please im desperate im starting to eat more as more now depressed

Mum, sorry wont go there, been yo yo dieting for years and the fast approach aint the right approach, you will just pile it all back on.

Start putting your portions on side plates and make sure you have a healthy snack between meals, fruit or a yoghurt.

Just take it slowly with a bit of exercise and hey presto you wont even notice you have been dieting and the weight will fall off.

Mum2sam, I am sure this isn't what you want to hear but losing 7lbs and keeping it off is well nigh impossible in a week! All the grapefruit / cabbage soup / slim fast plans in the world won't help as they won't educate your body to keep it off. It's a change of eating habits which is needed together with moving a bit more to increase your metabolic rate.

I would try to eat 3 good meals a day, only snack on fruit and veg, get a pedometer and try to do 10000 steps a day and generally think about what you are eating and why. I lost a stone in about 10 weeks by doing this. Not quick but it has stayed off.

Sorry not to have an instant solution but it will work if you give it time.

Surely losing 7lbs in a week (or trying to) is a sure way to make sure you put on 14, the next week?

Well if you think that the pill is to blame, then trying a different form of contraception might help?

Or even just a different brand of pill? Some brands are worse than others for weight gain, methinks.

Hi I tried Cabbage Soup diet once and I did loose 8 pounds but you do have to stick to it, but sad to say the following week i just put it all back on. Cabbage soup quick fix if you have n event to go to where you want to look your best.

If you lose 7 lbs in a week it will mainly be water. why not eat well as suggested and do some toning exercise. could some of it be fluid retention anyway, try drinking more water too?

Losing 7lbs of fat in one week is a scientific impossibility I think.

You'd need to lose 1lb per day and each pound of fat is about 3500 cals (IIRC) as the average calorie intake to sustain an average woman is 2500 cals per day, you would have to eat nothing and exercise manically.

about 2/3rds of what you lose in week one is water, but will come straight back on when you start eating normally.

Whats wrong with normal cut your calories down a little and exercise a bit more. it took you 2 months to put on a stone so it will take you one month to lose half a stone - why would you be able to lose it faster than you put it on?
