Why do you want to lose the weight?
What is in it for you?
What things will you be able to do once you succeed?

You have not tried everything : because you have not yet succeeded.
Because your internal self motivation has not been enough to override your mental inclination to eat.

So, start with the basics

  • stop snacking
  • every time you want to eat, drink a pint of water first and see if you are still hungry 20 minutes later
  • try to walk a much as you can, everywhere you can
  • put the scales away in the garden shed, they are a distraction.

Come back in a week and we'll work on stage 2 Grin

Putting the scales away shouldn't be too hard...they're currently gathering dust in a very dark corner of my bathroom Smile
I need to lose weight for myself and my self esteem. I cringe to look at pictures of myself when I was younger as I feel like I have let myself go. I am def an emotional eater and due to hectic lifestyle, I am pretty guilty of grazing instead of eating meals. good idea with the water though... I'll be needing lots of wee wees tomorrow Grin

caramel
Make yourself a sign that says "the kitchen is closed" and put it on the fridge after breakfast.
Grazing is really bad for your insulin system.
If you can break that habit, all else will start to fall into place.

Your son is still under two

  • a target for both of you will be to have proper meal routines
  • times, menus, at the table
before he starts school : it will do you both a world of good and set him out on a healthy start in life.
