Watching the weight when expecting

Hi all,

It seems most of these threads are about losing weight AFTER the baby.

Any advise on not putting on weight when expecting?

I was trying to lose weight when I conceived, and want to continue 'watching' my weight. I'm finding it very difficult and want to eat everything in sight!!

Thanks,

Lau

Well I was petrified of putting on baby weight so did cut back on calories but wouldn't recommend it as dd struggled to get nutrients in womb (May have no connection). I did abandon the 'diet' and in the end only put on 1/2 stone (put on another 1/2 stone sorting at home for 6 months with a new baby tho) - babies only need the extra calorie equivalent of one slice of toast a day so stick to that and it's perfectly healthy to lose weight in pregnancy if you eat enough calories so aprox 2200.

When dd was 8 months old I when on a proper diet and lost 2 stone and I have managed to keep it off for the past year as I'm now running after a toddler Grin

Are you overweight? If so, you can attend slimming world while pregnant as long as your midwife is happy to sign you off for it.

The slimming world website also has a section on pregnancy www.slimmingworld.com/rcm/.
